In an effort to collect some information more than anything else, please answer the following questions.  Maybe there is a correlation somewhere and maybe not, if nothing else I think this will still be interesting to see peoples responses.

Please lets not bother complaining about it here, plenty of other threads for that and I have done my share just like everyone else! LOL

Maybe we can learn something and maybe not but I thought this is worth a shot.  For those that aren't sure some of the info below can be retrieved by going to "Control Panel" and then "System".

There are more questions and things to consider than what is below but I didn't want to go too far or ask too much and I think the main ones are covered anyway.  The more people that participate, the more useful the information potentially is.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    1.  Operating system

    2.  Browser type

    3.  Processor type and speed        (please note whether dual core also if it is)

    4.  Amount of RAM installed

    5.  Display settings    (control panel/display/settings)

    6.  Version of Flash installed  (  http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/   )

    7.  Do you have background loading shut off?  (from game window, my settings/game options/ )

    8.  Flash quality setting? (from game window, my settings/game options/display )

    9.  Do you use game booster?

    10.  Have you checked to see that you do NOT have too many process's running in the background?

    11.  Are you surfing, listening to music, or running other apps during play?

    12.  What are your normal hours of play   (if anytime just indicate that)

    13.   How often are you seeing meter issues?  (give a percentage of overall play)

    14.  When you have meter issues, how often do you also see other issues (long loading times, graphics stuttering, etc give a % but note this is ONLY when you have meter issues already)

    15.  Do you notice more problems during the peak hours of 6pm - 10pm PST?   Give a % of issues during this time IF different than other % given above.

    1.   XP Pro service pack 3

    2.   IE7   (not upgrading yet til they work the bugs out)

    3.  Pentium 1.6 ghz

    4.   1.5  Gig of RAM

    5.   1024 x 768

    6.    10,0,45,2 installed

    7.    Yes

    8.    Best

    9.    Yes

    10.    Yes all shut off that are possible

    11.    NO

    12.    All hours

    13.    5 - 15% of the time.   OR   maybe once or twice on 18 holes

    14.   Maybe 50% ,   usually peak hours

    15.   Yes 30% of the time during peak hours I see issues.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

Other comments - Most of time I am NOT seeing issues with the meter unless I have other things going like music player or other pages open but I do see some meter stutter once in awhile even with everything shut off.

During peak hours I can see things go really hairy and have graphic stutter, long load times and meter stutter, maybe 30% of the time as indicated.   Some people see this and some don't, please relay your experience.

Well quite a few people are plagued with this problem, the vast majority unfortunately and if they have any interest in helping to alleviate it rather than just complain about it they will take a minute to answer.

Since you don't have ANY issues, which is pretty much a miracle, why not share some of your specs so maybe we can learn from that?   Questions 1 - 10 at least

I only know of one other user who says he has no issues and he uses Linux and plays off peak hours.

uh jj? What does WGT recommend for the minimum system requirements? Hint:   (it's the 3rd bullet point)

You must be playing on a work computer. I can't believe you chose to use IE. Drop that like a bad habit if you're having so much trouble especially playing with that setup. Have you tried Chrome or Firefox? If you can't change those I understand but if you can I think you're shooting yourself in the foot, barking up the wrong tree, peeing into the wind, peeing up a rope, spitting into the wind, -aw, nevermind. Just try Chrome.

I know there's plenty of players playing on less than minimum and doing ok so maybe hooking up with one of them and comparing systems might be in order. GL

Current Flash, Google and Firefox, less than 1% problem time and slow loads during peak hours (sometimes)

Yeah I know my CPU is not up to snuff and it does bite me in the ass sometimes I am sure, but check my post, only 5 - 15% of the time, this is small compared to some others so I feel lucky.

I did just get a new job so maybe I'll splurge and buy a newer laptop HOWEVER I see people with NEW dualcore systems having MORE problems than me, so I will not be buying it just for this game believe you me, it will be interesting to see what differences I notice though, if any.

I am now using Firefox on my current laptop just out of curiosity more than anything else just to see if I notice any difference at all with it over IE7.

Come one YJ, I know you also have stutters, take the poll man!

    ----------------------------------

This poll is not for my benefit but to see if there is any correlation between all the different factors outlined in the poll and to compare everyones specs with the amount of problems they see.  Since so many people have issues I thought people would be interested in this, maybe people just like complaining instead.

I edited my post so you could compare but its apples to oranges. I would bet I could improve your lot 100% in a conversation. Go get Skype and call me-it's a little tedious in the forum.

JJ, I appreciate your efforts but too time consuming.

I have a hunch that most like me that are having problems stems from video card.  My driver is from 2006 and cannot be updated, believe me I've tried.  Onboard graphics and video card really suck.

Every time WGT makes additions to game with updates, the game gets more intense and puts a bigger load on the system.  This is the reason my meter gets worse and worse with every update because it makes my card more obsolete.  Guess we're heading in a direction that you have to own a top of the line system to play the game with experciencing severe meter issues.

My laptop is work issued and I can't do much with.  Leaves me with 2 choices, leave the site or accept that I have an outdated system and stop complaining about it.  I'm going to choose the latter but wish WGT could figure out a way so we folks that aren't privileged enough to own great computers could enjoy the game as much as those who do.

I might slip a meter comment in here and there (hard to resist) but I'm not joining this fight.
