ive noticed wgt chose not to "asterick-out"  vulgarity in the chat feature, like most other games ive seen do. though i rarely chat obsenities, i dont object to it, and personally feel that drinking and swearing are as much a part of golf as clubs and balls. i usually am accompanied by a cold one when playing, and throw an f-bomb or two at my monitor when i strike a bad shot.

    your thoughts.

Im no prude, but I dont understand why people need to use inapproriate words on chat. Granted..you might let a few slip on the golf course...but to actually take the time to type and send the word is a bit different.

I have also seen some crude comments made to a few of our lady players... bad form!

Because sometimes it just plain makes you feel better.  :)  I don't throw them around liberally but the meter is a major source of frustration for me and sometimes a good old fashioned expletive is the only way to keep from breaking my computer.  Usually it's a modified version though along the lines of "chit" of "mf".  I'm saddled with a company issued laptop that has a video card driver from 2006 that can't be updated, by me anyhoo.  Every system update makes it more and more obsolete.  Now I will refrain from letting em fly when in the company of players who haven't broken the ice already.

Couldn't agree more with you on this one.  Please report these players to members@wgtcom when you see such inappropriate behavior and let's hope they get banned.

This is an 18 year old+ site and due to this I dont think we need everything "censored".

Golf can be a frustrating game and yeah the odd swear word does help, especially with the meter as Jake says! When I play a round with my Father on here just like on the real course we want to be able to keep it "real" , and that means swearing when you get pissed off!

OTOH, anywhere you have people on the internet you will have abuse.  This is a different issue entirely and should be kept that way.  Very easy solution for this, one every users profile page should be a "report user" button and a "ignore user" button.

This is something that is NOT optional IMO.

I must praise 99.9% of the gentlemen I have been privileged to play with here...nevertheless, quite a while back I was knocking the crap out of this dude who invited me to perform a lewd act upon his family heirloom which I declined. I let him know that I don't eat snacks.

Off topic and useless.  There are plenty of other 'meter sux and I'm entitled' threads out there that this could have fit into better.

Amen, JJB.  Very good point about 18+, censorship  and morons.  (My word, not yours.)

Yes, we all get to throw a bit of a verbal tantrum once in awhile.  It's like my granddad always said... "Cuss words are like a tool, son... use the right one, at the right time, and you can do just about anything."

Norm, I'm going to disagree with you.  Our lady players, while enjoying the freedom to be themselves in a male dominated setting, are very unlikely to slip into crude behaviour...  They may take the opportunity to 'let their hair down', if you will, which is all well and good, but it doesn't ever approach 'crude behaviour', IMHO.

However, the other 90% of female avatars are G.I.R.L.s who are simply sick 'tards who try to get "responses" from guys.

Which is why I pity the fools who think they're getting 'hooked up' with some hottie they met here.  Her avatar may be a half-naked Brazilian beach goddess, when in all actuality he is some balding, fat, 40 year old in his mom's basement, with dirty dishes piled high next to the box of tissues he keeps near his computer.

    Snaike,

I believe you misunderstood Norm.  He was referring to crude comments made TO female players, not by female players.
