How is our par averages tabulated? I've been scoring good on the par 3's lately and the value stays the same at 3.09 through at least a dozen rounds. The par five avg. is good at 4.69, just dropped one point today. My par four avg. is 4.02.

Do pars change the values at all?

    Hi Richard,

There's nothing fancy about how par values are calculated.  For example par 3 avg is simply your total amount of strokes on par 3's divided by the total number of par 3's that you've played.

Par values do change, but you're only going to notice very slight changes once you accumulate as many rounds as you have.

Niv, is there anything in the works for computing our averages based on, say, our last 100 rounds, or last 50 rounds?  Even the PGA pros get to shoot for new averages at the beginning of every year.  Though their "career" average stays with them.

Nothing specifically like that yet, no.  There has been some discussion in the past about how to break stats down into a more efficient and usable manner, but I don't believe it is a  top priority at the moment.  That's something we'll probably tackle a little later on.

To echo DMM, I was hoping for an eventual stats page that is sortable.  There could be several different timelines like 1 month, last quarter, 6 months, and 1 year.  It would be nice to see our GIR, putting stats, etc, stacked up against others with a minimal amount of rounds played.

If and when WGT leaves 'beta', perhaps we can get all stats reset?

Kinda hard comparing stats back when all we had was the front 9 at Kiawah.... to all 3 (well, 2.5) courses now.

    I'm just sayin'...
