    Anyone tell me how I shoot 1 under par on a raked round and have my avg go up? Just shot 1 under and went from 69.73 or so to 70.07. doesn't make sense.

    What course was it?  One under on two or three courses is a 35.  35 and 35 equals 70.  Sounds about right to me.

    The -1 could have also replaced a better score that has become to old to be calculated in your average.

    Your Average goes down if you don't shot better than your best game it seems.

    Don't feel bad I'm at 83.7 Amatuer and I will never get near Pro if i can't stop shooting 5 over on KI 9 Hole

    In the FAQs section----->:
    Your Average Score is the weighted average of your ten best out of your last fourteen stroke play scores (Practice rounds are not included). Your most recent scores are weighted more heavily to ensure there is no "sandbagging".

    If the last score you entered was less than the 14th one it pushed out, than sure it makes sense.

    Think about it for a minute...............;)

    jb,

    It wasn't the small chance that worried me, I promise I have more important things to worry about. It the the logic behind an under par score making my average go up. Now I understand better AND have time to hug my kids! Multi-tasking rocks.

    Hi Van.  Assuming you are referring to the 35 at SA on March 5th that resulted in the 70.07, a 72 would would have dropped off the last 14 and you would now have a 70 (35 X 2 = 70) on the top 3 of your weighed average.  Also, your highest 4 scores, that should not  count in your average, remain the same.  So as I calculate, your current average should be lower than your last average.  The bottom line is there is a lot more going on than just straight average calculations.  OK, now I need to hug the kids (wink).

    Hi Gents .. Not sure there is a lot more going on than straight avg calcs ... but there is definately a weighting.  From what i've read ... .the average is based on the best 10 out of your last 14 scores with some type of weighting system that weights the most recent scores higher.   Whatever this formula is would explain the difference between straight math and the actual average.
