Dropping your average to 68.99 or lower is the general consensus to make the amateur tier.

Didn't realize that amateur status moved you back one set of tees.  Shouldn't it also improve your yardages?  Tough to play from those tees with only 220 yard drives.

Is amateur status a good thing? Cuz I been purposely not playing ranked rounds to keep hack status...Am I missing something here???

Just an ego thing.  Actually makes it tougher since you play from the pro tees.

Like real golf, the players playing in the top tier (Amateur Tier) will be competing for the most valuable prizes (usually more valuable than the Hack Tier), so you have a good reason to practice and improve!
