Every time you advance to the next tier level your average gets reset. So, if your very first game as a master was 71, that is what your average will be till your next game. As you play more games your average will be the average of that in your current tier level.

At any given time your AVG is the average score of only the Ranked Rounds played at your Current Tier. It is not a Lifetime AVG. The reason for this is because in order to advance tiers the AVG required to tier up is based only on the RR's of your current tier.

And just to add, as MarchieB emphasizes (correctly so), it's an average, not a handicap.

And just to add even more, it's not really even a true average.  It's the average of your best X number of ranked rounds at your current tier, where X is a number that increases for each tier.

Is there a chart somewhere that shows how many ranked rounds must be played to lock your avg on every tier ??

If you mean by "lock your average" as to saturate your average so it will no longer go up with a bad round than for your tier as Champ it would be 1000.

If you are asking for something else, I don't understand. sorry.
