WGT are breaking new ground by introducing a fleet of driverless golf buggies to all of it’s championship courses .

Renowned for breakthrough technology wgt is once again the talk of the gaming world for transporting players around their courses .

It is thought to be the first initiative of this type on a global scale .

Directed by an app available on smart phones the driverless buggies take all the stress out of navigating your way around the golf course , freeing members to think only of preparing for their next shot .

The thinking behind this is fourfold .

    1 – increase pace of play .

2 – Prevent buggy crashes caused by driver error .

3 – Transport golfers effortlessly from hole to hole when using unfamiliar routes .

4 – Allow players to walk some stretches and then call up buggy via app when tired .

Further enhancements  could see the buggies gather data on performance and even offer advice.

Some long term members have been used as test pilots for several weeks now and are all happy to be hands free .

These buggies can be hired from wgt starting the last Friday in November using the usual payment methods .

Note of warning – Speeding ticket fines will be deducted from your credits .

You all be careful out there now .

WGTIcon head of golf and retail said: “We’re delighted to be launching the USA's first fleet of driverless buggies on all our championship golf courses.

“We are actually the biggest golf game in the world to be rolling out driverless buggies on this scale, so it’s very exciting to be at the forefront of this exciting technology. We’re always looking for innovative ways to improve the experiences of both our members and our visiting golfers, and these buggies really allow players to enjoy the scenery around them instead of keeping their eye on the road. It can only lead to better golf.".

WGTIcon conceded that traditionalists may frown upon this latest innovation, but thinks it is all about moving with the times.

"On the golf course phones are not always the done thing, but again being spontaneous, being creative and innovative, we are looking to change that idea and change the culture of golfers," he said. "From an application perspective, really easy to use, really simple, almost like using an electric  golf trolley these days."

One of the first club members to steer the new buggies was resort ambassador wiffy cox .

She is now well  used to having happy endings hands-free on the golf course..

“These driverless models just take all the worry out of where you are going. You’re then free to concentrate .

As part of a full safety assessment.everything is good to go .

I don’t want to be driver-less on anything but a par 3 hole.
