New type of Tournament?

  Don't know if this has ever been done or talked about before, but, I think it would be very interesting for WGT to sponsor a Tournament  that only allows starter equipment and starter balls. I'm not talking about ez swing or starter +, just the very basic you start with when you play your first round of WGT without making any purchase. I know the scores would be a lot higher therefore the scores you achieve in this Tournament would not alter your average. Just a thought. I think it would be a fun Tournament and a true test of skill. What do you all think?

  Top, I understand the "elites" Putt better than 99% of us but with a starter putter, you are putting a lot of trust in the WGT engine to get the ball going in the perfect direction with perfect speed. While I agree with you to a point, the lack of Precision and Forgiveness combined with the 0 ratings on starter balls, it would make for an interesting outcome.

  We used to have the tough it out tournament, but wgt messed up and some players had non starter equipment. (not their fault)

  Wgt obviously didn't like it as there was no revenue to be made from it. (understandably)

  The best players still finished at the top.

  Most of the "elite" players ( those considered to be the best of the best ) can score the same low scores regardless of what clubs they are given.... including all Starter gear.

  Pretty sure he doesn't mean literally the same low scores, he will be meaning in comparison to the rest of the field. e.g. if i am 9 shots behind them playing with our usual equipment, i won't be any closer than that if we are using starters.
