... but you realize that the supposedly "private" mode in browsers is just a myth, right? The traces of which webpages you browsed will still be there on your hard-disk, although not to be displayed readily. I get frequently amused when I hear folks assuming that their switching to "private" browsing really effectively hides anything. It doesn't; it only makes it more difficult (for a lay person) to unveil.

That all being said, I can't imagine a single reason for playing this game in private mode?

All I know is that I have tried both mode's in Firefox  and for me the private mode eliminates all the jumping with the meter. My game has impoved in this mode. Why it is this way I don't know, it just works for some reason.

I just thought it might work for others.

    What can I say.

Very interesting! Of course, that would be a perfectly legitimate reason.

I tried playing in  the private mode today and it appeared to work for a while (a dozen holes or so)  then major freezes on the meter while putting.  (all other recommendations taken.)  Also noticed it takes longer to load the game initially and between holes while in private mode.  Oh well.....

    WGTalex,

Still not able to log in using Firefox. I am able to lon ing with IE so it is not a username or password issue. I did Email like you requested, but wanted to leave you some feedback here as well. If you did apply the fix, it did not correct my issue.

The site loads normally, I am just propted to log in, and then the log in dialogue errors saying a connection to the server is not found. All other sited are working normally in Firefox. Is this possibly a port assignment change that was made to your software specific to the login process?

disregard the port assignment wuestion, if that were the case then I'd have the same issue in IE.

I would try re-installing Flash in Firefox. There are separate Flash versions for IE and the other browsers, and the log-in on this site is Flash-embedded, so perhaps a Flash re-install might help. I'd also make sure to clear both the Flash cache and the browser cache again, then re-start the browser. If that still doesn't help, I'd try downgrading to an earlier version of Firefox, only experimentally, just to check if the same issue occurs in all Firefox versions.

Finally, I believe Chrome performs the best in this game anyway.

I just reinstalled flash, and still get the same server error.

I do not know why it would give me an internet connection error if it were a flash issue, but had to give it a shot just in case! I have never heard of clearing the flash cache, can you give me a quick walk through, and I'll happily try that, too?!

I'm also don' tthink it is the FF version, as it worked on the currently installed version a week or so ago. Will test drive Chrome and Opera for thetime being, but I'd really like to get this working in FF again...

    Faterson,

Just to try, I ran the flash update in Opera (even though the FF install said it was successful) and it forced me to close Opera AND FF in order to install flash. Now I can log back in again, so it apparently was a flash issue afterall.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

    Vg
