    Got to agree .

Some people treat wgt as a way to pass the time instead of it being a full time job .

You ain't gonna change their attitudes whatever you do .

I put up 1000 credits for 5 games in our cc .

5 games at 200 credits each game . I won my 1000 credits  back .

You can take a horse to water .

Creating a team event is a good way to pull players together across time zones and play times-the forum buzzes as everyone connects. I had a team event that came off quite well and was fairly easy to pull off. I called it the Schoolyard Pick tournament and had a single play round set up for qualifying. That determined how many members were going to participate.

As it turned out, I had 21 play in the seeder so I wound up with 3 teams of 7. The top 3 on the leaderboard were the captains and they picked in order from the remaining 18. From there it was a combined effort by the team of 7 against the other 2 teams and setting up a 4 round event made it easy to award points at the end of each round-all based on the actual leaderboard scores.

This is what the final leaderboard looked like. In fairness to the scores, I had designed an extremely difficult Par 4 course I named Misery that didn't need anything other than normal conditions to prevent a challenge to everybody. Only 2 scores of 30 should say something.  A simple spreadsheet made it easy to stay current-check the LB and stick in the results, copy and paste.  :-)

    YankeeJim:

see if I can get this to the next page. This one's a bit messed up.  LOL

That's the truth!  I have never seen this before, with bits and pieces of posts all over the page!

Most clubs and organizations are centered around common interests. With the number of country clubs available on WGT it is far more important to identify a common interest beyond golf to make and keep a club dynamic.

I was once a member of a  WGT country club where most, if not all members, had an interest in marijuana. They used a chat program and had well attended nightly tournaments. It seemed that if one or more of the members were on line, some kind of group game could get started. For me, however, they just didn't seem to be available when I wanted to play so there was a lack of commonality. Had it been a larger club, I am sure this would not have been the case.

If you can find some sort of common ground that links members, the club will be that center of WGT life that you seek. Golf is a social game where players talk as they walk or ride. Courses have 19th holes for this same social reason. Look for something beyond the golf to link people together.

    Here's one.

No sign ups necessary. I'll put up a 3 round tourney. All rounds will be in identical conditions on the same course - two days each to play. Play the first round, then decide whether you think you can do better. If so, play the second round. Once again, if you think you can better that score, play the third. Your score for challenge purposes will be the last score posted, whether better or worse than the others.

Just put this up in the CC. It's part of a series that I am calling "Oddball Challenges." Some will recognize this as coming from another series, "Survivor" which I first played and ran at a previous club, Bridgestone. Cudos to coachjmoore for having invented it. We've done it three times at Cravendale, but there wasn't sufficient interest this year, so I'm just putting the challenges out there for all to do, hoping to spark interest for Survivor next year.
