Club Officers/Directors

  Can anyone out there tell me what the purpose and  duties/obligations (if any)  are in respect of directors/officers of Country Clubs. Should they contribute towards there country club? if so in what way.

  That depends on the club owner as to what the directors do . They may do anything from setting up club tournaments to recruiting  new members . Its all up to the owner as to who gets assigned to whatever duties the club needs .

  ...but you can fill it with meaning!

  From an organizing POV it's the same than Members and Veterans - "ranks" in a CC that can be awarded to CC members by the owner. The only difference is the Directors' numbers, limited by the CC's level.

  (Recruits are a tad different as that is the default rank when entering a CC)

  Inside the game software, permissions for seven types of tasks and allowances can be granted to each of the ranks by the owner.

  Further to that, owners may share any duties with any players in their CC whether they make them Director or not.

  Clubs need leadership. I have seen orphaned clubs where the owner leaves WGT and the club withers and dies because there were no directors with any authority. But sometimes these orphaned clubs continue to be dynamic, thriving organisations because an owner had forethought to have a board of directors with unlimited powers. A club home with directors is far more inviting than a club with only the owner having the keys to the kingdom.

  That will vary from club to club , Depending on the members and the owner . 

  They might have the ability to recruit new members .

  There might be a tournament director .

  They could have the ability to email all members .

  They could have the ability to update the club message .

  They should have personal information to the owners account and phone number Etc.  In case of the owners demise a director can access the owners account and transfer ownership .  (* Accessing another account is against the rules but might be necessary )

  They might have a say in removing members for violating club policy .

  They should read and contribute to the club forum on a regular basis . 

  Might have a graphics director .

  Might have a technical director .

  Of course it pays off if more than one person can create tournaments or handle invitations. CCs may live without their owner.

  Alas, Directors never have unlimited powers. The main power reserved to the owner is to change member status including their removal and assigning new Directors, and this may be crucial for long-living CCs.

  I have found the major benefit of being a director is you generally avoid latrine duty.

  But all valid points ^^^^ :)
