This is my experience as well, especially for lag putts, any putt on the 100 foot meter and above this is a great rule of thumb.  4 rules of putting:

    1. Pace

    2. Pace

    3. Pace

    4. Line

I don't use Putter Pal and The only equation I use is a simple one.  Tourny speed using a putter with 15,30,60 scale.

    Full meter ..15 goes 20ft,  30 goes 40ft,  60 goes 80 ft.

If you use avatar movements when putting -

    30 scale - 3 avatar movements is 24ft.

    60 scale - 3 avatar movements goes 48ft.

20ft putt up 4 elevation - 24ft.   3 Avatar movements on the 30 scale = 24ft.  I would hit slightly more than 24ft to make sure it's not short

With all the other speeds I kinda guess using the same equation as above.

So on Champ green speed.  20ft putt up 4 elevation = 24 ft I would hit it about 19ft.  Just short of full on the 15 ft scale.

I just go by feel and years playing the game.  Not good at it but I go alright.

If I have putts more than 80ft I'm stuffed as I havn't worked out anything more than that  lol.  but rarely get into that situation anyway.

Something I use between the speeds --the difference between 12 and 13 is the move or cancel it. It fits what you're saying.  :-)

Yes, you can, I do. You still have to get the speed right.  :-)

If anyone wishes to replicate the game as if it was for real. Then do not use calculations. I play because if I lip out. I lip out..Depends on whether anyone plays WGT as a gamer or they or as a " golfer". I see scores being posted in low 50's over 18 holes. Good for them but it's not realistic.

Yes true.   Now because this is a game you have to get the speed right.  On a real golf course you can stand there and visualize the putt but on a screen it's knida hard to do that.

Pretty informative. I had not noticed some of these things.

One question though. So on a perfectly flat surface a 30' meter at full power should send the ball 30' right? How fast do the greens have to be where they will make the putt go further? 10? 12?

I've had trouble on some greens where they were pretty flat so I used 50% on a 30' meter for a 15' putt and the ball ends up almost 15" past the hole!  Trying to figure this out and it has to be the green speed.  That was on a course with Tournament 12  green speed.

What speed will give your meter the truest speed? In other words a 15' putt is 50% on a 30' meter at what green speed?  Anyone?  Thanks for the help!
