    Agreed, seems we both are.

Q "Why can't their be tiered VUSO"?

A "Who cares, I'm not allowed to play"

Should you open another thread?  Perhaps not, but you could have posted your thoughts in the other thread that talked about your angle extensively already.

Yeah ok...keep kicking the ball in the stands!!! Whatever...at least read the posts before continuing babbling. This thread reads ''The Pebble Qualifier'' and the OP posted about his situation. I talked about mine and said that iam excluded without knowing the reason. Not so much confusing, isn't it? So...if you are not WGT staff and especially if you don't know anything about as why some countries are allowed to play and claim the prize meanwhile others (without restrictions from legislation) don't, just don't post...

@ Yiannis   Actually you are excluded by your countries laws . Even though your country does allow casino gambling . It does not allow online gambling of any kind .  The law which bans on line gambling does not differentiate between online gambling and web based video games .

So in your country WGT is considered an online gambling game , which is prohibited by your countries laws . If you google "Greece gaming laws " you can read up on this . Its what I did .The law 3037/ 2002 is the law which explains this .

So now you know why you dont qualify for these tournaments .

No Lonnie....3037 is covering another field and context, does not concern every person who plays online games from his home but only those who run internet cafes o provide illegal means publicly for card games via net. If 3037 had an application as you intend, we all would have been in jail just for playing WGT....No, no, absolutely not this case.

Further more, 3037 has been abolished by Law 4002/2011 article 54.

Perhaps the company overlooked this happening, or rather likes to stay on the safe side (even with the home/cafe difference)(?)

I don't really know what their knowledge is about this matter alosso, but i can assure everyone that in my country there is no prohibitive law about winning prizes on net games...at least not like wgt game. So, if they still stay with 3037/2002, i believe they should make some homework after 7 years (2011).

    Hi

Another one here who won't be taking part. Unlike Yiannis, who would stand a fighting chance I'm sure if he was allowed to, I'm purely interested the in eligibility aspect.

    Countries eligible

All of mainland Europe excluded, apart from Germany, Holland and Norway. I know that some of those countries excluded also have extremely relaxed gambling / gaming laws too.

I see that the winner is also decided by score, not by the "random draw" method used in the WGT CTTH tourneys, amongst others. I assume then that it's classed as "skill based" (logically)
    From WGT FAQ's

The US states listed though are eligible to enter this.

Like I say, I won't be taking part, but for players who are excluded and may have stood a chance it's got to be frustrating. To whoever wins though, no matter where they're from, very well played and congratulations!

    Cheers!

    Rich

Believe me or not my friend, eligibility is my primary and only concern. Don't think myself as a top player or a serious contender for such a high stake tournament. It only bugs me so much being excluded for the wrong reasons. That's my point in my posts...nothing more, nothing less. For those who can understand the posts and not only read them, it's not a personal thing at all. Thank you for undestanding the essense of the issue Rich, cheers!!

Yet he can enter a rg put up his stake and win or lose credits.  He can win credits on the VT, in MPC, Skins, CC tournaments etc etc and get a voucher with them.  Spend money getting the chips to enter and if he's lucky and good enough to win he can cash them in, of course he's not allowed to gamble on wgt :-/

I googled it too there were many options of articles to read and I just thought "too complicated" to boldly say Greece bans online gambling I think is wrong.  It may be a state monopoly but it looks like that's changing or changed.

Your deep understanding of Greek law after a bit of googling shames my confusion.

Actually, i believe WGT does not fall in the gambling game category, at least under Greek legislation...

Procedures, the outcome of which depends on luck or on technical and intellectual ability, but without the participants having any direct or indirect financial loss for that purpose, regardless of whether they are likely to obtain a benefit from their participation, for the purposes of this law, are not considered as gambling.

Your confusion has nothing to do with me . The fact that I was willing to take my time and try to explore a reason as why was not wrong . Also my relaying the information which I found also was not wrong . Unlike you I wasnt to lazy to try to find out .

You googled it and read nothing which tells me you know nothing at all . So trying to troll and berate me is a waste of your time . Maybe when you become more computer literate you will learn how to use one . In todays times people google the information they wish to learn thats how its done .

As to what other game events Yiannis is allowed to play was not mentioned . But if he can enter and play the other credit events then there is no reason for him to not be qualified to enter the tournament .That not only goes for him but for all of the other players as well .

So you can lol all you want . It doesnt make me look small . But it does make you look ignorant .
