My level is Tour Pro and my average is 69.13. I am in a head to head the with a legend whose average is 65. We have a one shot  tie breaker. I land .5 feet from hole. He comments WOW and within seconds lands .25 feet from hole. Very hard for me to believe it was legit. Please reply.

What do you suppose that Legend thought about a TP dropping one .5 feet away? That's more suspicious than his shot.

I agree. It's very hard to believe that it was legit for a tour pro with your clubs to hit it to .5 feet. The shot seems like a bit of an outlier. But there it was. :-)

So, here are my questions (other than the obvious one, which I believe Jim already addressed):

    • Before that shot, did you have any to believe that he was not legit?
    • Also, it sounds like the shot must not have been that difficult of one for both of you to land it so close. So, what was the shot being attempted?

Pretty much the same thing happened to me the other night.  199 yard shot, in tie breaker, I hit to 2.7 feet,  from the hole, he shot, 2.1 feet, both great shots.  He was a tour pro also, then I looked and saw that he was a level 97.  His shot was very believable, now knowing that he had so much experience.  What I call professional coin gamers, can be excellent players, with lots of experience, and hold a very low tier rating.

I would venture to guess that a TP playing on faster greens and using the free ball probably played a nice roll up shot (or got lucky with it) while the Legend, already used to the green speed and possibly carrying decent wedges with a decent ball, executed a nice dart.

Ironically, I could see where the OP might think something was off but maybe he'll come away from this knowing what he has to look forward to as he gets better. Maybe someday somebody will say something to him when HE does that.  LOL  ;-)

I would not like to meet this player in match play:

    Tour Master with 61.22 average

    level 102

    1439 ranked rounds

    4147 alternate shot games

A lot of experience, able to use top equipment , and doesn't have to tee off from the parking lot!
