Tibbets makes a great point...but here is a valid point that i know its not my computer and i still get lag.....

Im pretty well versed in computers and i know its wgt. I have a alienware gaming computer with quad core i7, 8gb of memory, 4gb of video and 4tb of hard drive space and a very quick internet connection.

i can have nothing running in the background except for the important system sets. have a game booster on and have all your extras off and put flash on medium plus did all your troubleshooting tips and still get lag, especially after 5-6 holes.

i love this game, it is by far the greatest golf game, but you really need to look into the lag on the wgt end.

I just think it is funny for saying its my computer when on mine i can run Maya, photoshop, after effects and be on facebook playing another flashgame while rendering in the background at the same time with no lag.

please look into this wgt. you have a great thing here and myself, i have invested a few bucks in this game. please listen to the players that you are making money from...

    thank you

    A Interesting meter lag happening

I was on the 7th hole, he was down 3. He hit into the weeds, and then immediately hit the button that the game should not count. I asked him if he is crazy. He said he is having meter problems

would love to give you his name, but I shall abide by the rules

    [

"This game sux! fix it!" type posts get us nowhere.

Birdwell, agreed, but I think it is out of frustration. I, for one, have tried every fix that has been posted, but the gremlin still comes and goes. Maybe halloween will take him away

I tried game booster and had problems with it, din't solve a thing. I only get the lag

once in a while and it seems to be more during the day than at night. IMHO I think

    it is a server problem.

Right, it's our computers.  That's why you find this many search results on lagged swing meters.

Here is a more precise breakdown of the issue.  It is one that has always needed, and continues to need, addressing.  One should not have to install 3rd party software and close every running service on their computer to play a simple Flash game.

Still not convinced?  Have a look at your resource monitor and see how much of your RAM and CPU are being used during gameplay.  Close out WGT, and then go play one of the 10000 other Flash based games out there, do the same observation, and then decide if it's really "our computers" that are "lousy".

why does my meter work perfectly?? because i have a macbook pro hooked up to a good wireless connection. evidence that the better computer and connection you have, the better your meter will work. when it is not working as well, it is because i am trying to load other web pages. so maybe this is you problem.

I'm not going to enter the Meter lag: your computer/WGT server debate anymore because it's too erratic.  Some people play fine, no lag ever and others can't even get a single player game on because of it... there is no one "right" answer, and I'm sorry about that.

But I do have a question for my good friend tibbets per the quote above.... doesn't TWO require a 3rd party software as well?  Unity?  /shrug.

    Ok, back in my cave.

Snaike, the Unity player at TWO is the equivalent of  Flash here at WGT.  You have to install Flash to play here, Unity to play there.

Coolness... but then again, back to the point about installing a 3rd party software in order to play the game???

ok ok ok.. I know... back in my cave and I'm not allowed out until I can work and play well with others... /sigh

The Unity player seems to work a lot better on TWO than Flash does here on WGT. This could be apples and oranges but, I`m reminded of the Betamax/VHS days of battle over which one was better/more efficient/popular etc.. Maybe in time , one will take over as being the better, most user friendly, and "the only way to go" as the other one fades away into obscurity. Would there be a difference in game play if WGT applied the Unity player to this game? Or how would TWO function using Flash?

Edit ) I think I answered your question Snaike, by kinda passing right over it. As in using a tape player(whatever brand) to watch a movie, we now use an app. to play an online game. It`s a universal tool basically. If every game, movie, etc. had it`s own tool that could ONLY be used for that...well, look at betamax now.
