Too frustrated with this

I used to really like this site. I still do in principle. But I've played less and less the last few months. It seems like more and more often the glitches cost me strokes. Whether it's a well struck ball inexplicably going 20 yards left or a hiccup in the power bar causing a wild shot. I realize that these glitches are indiscriminate and thereby levels the field, but it's too frustrating nonetheless.

Everytime it happens I avoid this site for a little bit longer. After having been away for a month I signed in about half an hour ago. It was great, glitch free for 11 holes and I was 2 under in a single entry tournament. I was feeling positive about the site again. Then, on the 12th, it just went haywire. Twice on the same hole perfectly struck shots from the fairway went berzerk, one in a bunker, the other out of play. I finished the hole with a triple bogey without a single mishit.

Well, that's just not good entertainment. Like an old snooker player I knew used to say, "No good shot goes unpunished". I'm not saying there's no such thing as bad luck, bad bounces or bad shots; I hit plenty of bad shots, but when the system won't allow success, it becomes pointless.

I still like this site (in principle) and I hope the bugs get worked out one day, but they've lost me. It just aint worth the frustration.

Luckily, we aren't, and our caps-lock key isn't broken either. Please realize that not everyone is experiencing the same issues as you & the thread starter. For huge numbers of us, this game is glitch-free for much of the time. You might want to consult this thread to try and fine-tune your system.

There is no fine tuning "The Beast" though. I will say that is the single most frustrating aspect of play here at WGT.

But some say the Beast is the most entertaining and realistic aspect of the game, Mosherki.  Neviem

yes, i like the beast....if the golf ball always went where players aimed it in real life you wouldn't see so many pros walking down the fairways shaking their heads.

and (in the future release thread)  i saw a member asking for aimer measurements; ball to aimer, aimer to flag...ummm, NO!!...you don't see tiger woods walking onto the green with a tape measure; "lets see, 7mph 1/4 head wind, plus 4.5 feet downhill from 149 yards, so if i aim 12.75 feet to the right....based on my scientific analysis, that should hole out.".

when WGT makes this game about "who has the best charts and calculator", i'll just go back to playing Links offline.

edit: and 1 more thing...i'd like to see WGT lose the wind direction/speed indicator...i've yet to see a pro holding a twirly bird in his hand on a tee box or fairway...WGT should add the ability to toss a few pieces of cut grass in the air for "judging" the wind speed and direction...golf is not a game of science, its a game of feel.

When a sim evolves to the point where a player can "feel" the wind on his face, and the club in his hand, more will agree with you. Until then you need to remember this is a game of 1's and 0's.

the Wii's lastest attachment is the quad fan that you hang from the ceiling...it changes automatically to give you that "real  feel' while you're swinging your 2 foot chunk of plastic....try that one out...lol

Not the least bit supprised by anything done by the consoles. Keeping the attention of 8-13 year old children is difficult.
