      Links course, yes!!!!!!!

    • 2019 -- Pebble Beach

      New flags then... :-S

    • 2020 -- Winged Foot

**couldn't get to their official page because I am connecting from Thailand! know what to expect here then - a Handkerchief full of snottery no doubt, BOOOO!!!** course looks 'meh' anyway...

Don't think they'll let WGT in either - make for plan B I say WGT, these toffs wont want the lawns marking with tripods for certain.

    • 2021 -- Torrey Pines

      OMG!!! Pebble Beach on steroids!!!

    • 2022 -- The Country Club in BrookLINE

Edit to the original post, it's BrookLINE as in recLINE or deCLINE...
which again is what they did to me. Sooooo we're not going to put a picture up of the equally snotty BrookLINE Country club (looks like Bethpage Black anyway, borrrring), we're going to put up a photo of the screen I was faced with, because let's face it, this kind of thing makes you feel about 'that big' doesn't it. And nobody should suffer being made to feel 'that big' in 2017.

To be fair we don't know if it was initiated by them or from our side - which it well could have been considering the state of this country right now, but it's still not going to stop me giving my opinion on the 'blue-boy-ism that still runs rife through golf, a great great sport of physics that was hijacked by toffs, probably from the very outset.
Heyyyy Blue boys - die faster! free-up golf to the masses, which I guess is what Brooklyn country club is attempting to do itself so lets keep them advertised :-)

At least they let Thai rabble on to their official site - replace Winged Foot with TPC Sawgrass and BrookLINE with errrrrrm another one I say!!

    • 2023 -- Los Angeles Country Club

      https://www.thelacc.org/

Looks like my kinda course again, Merionesque? - rough, wild, unkempt, how golf should be - also love the municiple buildings hovering ominously over your little bit of fresh air - paradise lost my friend!

    • 2024 -- Pinehurst No. 2

Hope they have a re-think on this one!!

      2025 -- Oakmont Country Club

      **ahem!**
    • 2026 --  Shinnecock Hills

All-in-all not bad at all, at least 3 rough, harsh, links courses in there.....and Brooklyn!!

Wrong course Deena, And wrong site. It is The Country Club at Brookline not Brooklyn.  it is in Brookline Massachusetts.

Deena was right look  at top . Try going through Golf Course Gurus.com. They have pictures of the course and its layout . This club at one time turned down Tom Brady when he applied for membership . Its very exclusive as far as membership goes but then so is Augusta so no big deal .

Its an elite US Open course. Its a bit like Merion in the sense that the rough is brutal and the greens are small and have lot of slope. Not as diabolical as Merion but far from a yawn (Just ask Phil Mickelson)

I have had the good fortune to play both Shinnecock Hills and Winged Foot.   Winged Foot (west) is probably the best course that I have ever played, not sure how well it will translate to WGT but it is a beautiful and difficult course, hence the massacre at Winged Foot in which the winning score was Plus 7.

The course has held US Opens in 2005 (Plus 5 winning score), 1984 (Minus 4 winning score), 1974 (Plus 7 winning score), 1959 (plus 2 winning score) and back in 1929 a guy named Bobby Jones won at Plus 6.

The course has obviously held up well over the years.

Enough food for dreams *sighs*, but reality has cought up with Deena:

No Shinnecock, no company statement (who would ever expect one?).

They confirm my impression again and again:

"We are WGT, hope is futile!"

Winged Foot is a beautiful course in real life. I was there with my firm back in 2006 when the Open took place there.

Fat chance they'll let us gawkers invade the grounds virtually.
