Yes, Chambers Bay was available to play a good month before the U.S. Open.

My memories not the best, but I seem to remember from previous new course released that we got the front 9 CTTH first followed by a back 9 CTTH and then the full course.

We were able to play CB before the official release as some clever person found a "back-door" for the full 18. http://www.wgt.com/forums/t/309444.aspx

Think like a beta version of software.

WGT sometimes "allows" back-doors to leak out. Then we find it and, if we play it enough and there is a problem, they can correct it before they "officially" release it.

I played PB F9 (remember, F9 came out 6 months before B9) and CB before they were released. So we just need to keep looking for it, when it appears.
