    13th hole bethpage black.....

landed on what tyhe game said was the fringe had a 28ft put uphill 9inches.....so i hit my putting on the 37ft power mark.....ball moves about 5ft and then next shot game give me a chip shot not a putt any more ??....this is totally crooked and only wgt blinkered lovers would disagree....lol

if the 2nd shot is a chip shot why was not the 1st shot one also ??....lol

You can change it to hit whatever shot you want to. :-0

Let's just examine this a bit, if I may.

You hit your first putt from the fringe and the ball moved 5 feet.  And was still on fringe.  Since the caddy offered you a chip you were not on the green, you must still have been on fringe.

You've been here 6 years and haven't learned not to putt over 5+ feet of fringe?

Call me blinkered if you will but at least I'm capable of learning.

On #13 BPB front right corner, there is fairway between fringe and green. You can't putt to the hole from there, at least not by the usual putting power concepts.

6 years and you didn't know that a 68/69% FBS pitch with a 64 deg wedge would have put you stone dead. Try it next time you get a chance Jimmy.

    +1

I literally cannot remember the last time I putted from the fringe.

    Yep.

If I'm playing unevens and the fringe has too much up/down slope, I'll putt, but that's about it.

Said it before - Say it again. Flop is the hardest shot to master, but once it's in your bag, it's a real par saver.

Chip is harder, and once its in your bag, its a real birdie maker ;)

I do generally prefer to putt from fringe unless its an exception.

See, I feel the same way about the pitch. Even on short shots from the off the green (for example, about 5 yards), I still pitch rather than chip.
