One of mine was cliff diving.. ( can u see where this is going ? ) ;-)
Anyway...everytime I go Malaga airport I see these kids diving off and think " yaa, looks fun". " heading towards 50,yrs old better sort it"
Rocked up, had a chat with @ least 5 nationalities, Spanish / German / Swedish / French etc ..most in there 20's but good guys.
Did the test runs on the 10 meter ledge and over 6 weeks slowly built up how to land in what feels like concrete if u get it wrong, bit like St A's ;)
So...all good, got the script.........................
30 meter ledge, 2nd dive at that height and.......

near 3 weeks later compos mentis
Apparently in induced coma for 10 days ( don't even remember waking up that Day )
, after the heli flght to Madrid from Malaga, broken both collar bones,left scapula/radius/ulna/ humerus ( which wasn't funny ) a shed load of bones in the wrist and hand...............4 ribs and 3 inch fracture of skull.
NOT the worst of it.....
Woke with no feeling from the neck down and I don't mind admitting..I shed a tear or 2, had some dark., dark nights there..
Had and have put myself in some precarious situations in my younger crazy days but have never been SCARED, there was always the option of fight or flight then ..
this time,,phtt, scared s*hitless I don't mind admitting..the docs trying to reassure me that it maybe be temporary due to nerve damage.
Which thankfully was correct, but 6 days later....I cannot describe the beauty of pain I felt @ 4am one morning...whole body woke up but with massive *pins n needles* LOL still smiling at the memory of...
I'd rather be dead than Hawkins TBH ( srry, how I feel )

So now no solo skydive for me now ( did a tandem 10 yrs ago ) thinking " got all the time in the World"...doctor says can fook up neck bones now so a no, no..
