Came into this game looking for mediocre Tiger Woods replacement since no PC version...

Figured it'd be along the lines of playing the online golf games on yahoo, or pogo...

Well... First few holes was suprised this was better than those.

30minutes passes... Realize it's starting to overhype itself with spin that doesn't spin, drives that I actually can out drive in real life golf(225 is far, amirite?), etc...

Noticed the equipment button, realize hmm... Checked it out... AND BOOM!!!

    Hello...

    It's a Korean Micro-transaction MMORPG-esc in disguise...

I guess I coulda saved an hour of my life if they just labeled the front page... The Runescape of Golf, or Sims 3 Meets Golf, etc...

Only reason that bothers me is... I hate micro-transaction games.

Anyhoo... Barring all that, game is mildly entertaining for bout an hour before you realize like ever other micro-T game, you gotta either pay or be content with mediocrity(well whatever's below mediocrity actually in this games case.)

    I'll pass...

Or you could practice a bit, place in the top 70 in tournaments, and win some credits (instead of thinking you have to purchase them). If you want to spend $$ here for better equipment, you can. However, if you don't, you can still play just as much and still upgrade if you place well enough in tournaments.

    Let's see.

I "spent" $15 to buy clubs here at WGT.   Which isn't a big deal, and is nothing when compared to the amount of real money  (in the form of Amazon gift certificates) and credits I've won here.

I just checked out the Amazon site, and TW10 is $56.99.

I'm also not a big fan of the micro-transaction craze that every company is trying to get into, but in the end, I've made some money from this game where I've never won anything from any of the TW games I've purchased and played in the past.   And I'm not even remotely close to being one of the top players here.

M&M marioh & mosherkl nailed the salient points.

    • You can buy a bundled club set and pay ~$20 for a game better than any $20 golf game in the bargain bin.
    • Practice and you can still do well with the freebies and earn the credits instead. I could shoot in the top 70 (cutoff for winnings) with the default clubs if I had to, though it might take a good while to earn anything meaningful.
