Most of the time this means that you were in a tourney and you bailed out, for whatever reason, it was not finished.
The simple way to fix it is to finish tourneys... if you can't/don't want to, simply reenter/enter a tourney and when you wish to leave, either QUIT and SAVE, or QUIT and DON'T SAVE... just don't press the big red X when you want to bail.
