  Tip for front pin, below hole for chip/putt(if stays on its a miracle) up to cup or above the hole to hope for roll down but could leave yourself dodgy downhiller.

  Best way to play it please as i hate the bar steward hole. And please dont say best way to play it is to land second shot in cup ;-)

  P.S Hate back pin as well pffft.

  Long is never good. Play to come in from the right as the left of the pin is going to roll away. Trying to stick one in there needs the right wind and is not a very good risk. Even the 3-4 foot putt is a bear from the wrong angle. Map your fbs 64w pitch from below, off the green. Flops get up and down but pitches go in.  :-)

  If u can perfect ur 7,8 9 yard pitch, then ur in the money.

  Chip & Flop don't work as well.

  Front pin is so much better on champ greens as the right just right of the flag doesnt hold it up like it does often on tourney greens.. Back pin? Less the said....

  Cheers all, yeah normally a flop man but trying to get the other wedge shots learnt, but that hole aint the one to practice on lol

  Normally (without even wanting to), its an uphill chip or flop but you know the score, if champ/tourny, you gotta be close as no putt outside 3 foot easy on there.

  Would love a fresh pin but thats poss me running scared of it ;-)

  Actually, it is. Take your 64w and pitch it. Put full back spin on it and start with about 2/3s of the meter from that spot  below the pin. The ball will not run away from you. Should take you about 3-4 shots to trust that it won't.  ;-)

  Once upon a time, the unthinkable happened on Merion #5 front pin position . It may have been the best putt I ever made. If the hole didn't get in the way, it was off the green.
