I am really disappointed with the new game. The graphics are beautiful, but the play is awful. Clubs that don’t play as they should (ever used your driver in the fairway? Don’t try it here, it will only travel 60 to 65 yards no matter how well you hit it), hitting the same club the same way in the same conditions and getting drastically different results, and the putting is absolutely horrendous (12 feet one time, then hit it the same way in the same conditions and it goes 22 feet).  Putting is always the down fall of computer golf games, but this sets new lows in computer golf. I’ll go back to my old games and quit playing here; it’s a total waste of time now.

Sorry for the rant, but this is really a huge disappointment.

I'm sorry that you didn't stay with it long enough to discover the methodology behind the game.  2 rounds aren't enough to learn about how a game is played.  Try that with real golf, you'll probably want to throw out any  clubs you're given after 2 rounds, and also will probably think there is something wrong with them.

Please get real and be serious.  In the real game of golf nothing is the same, I mean nothing, While you can hit a driver off the fairway and the pros may do it one out of a thousand times,it is unconventional. I am a former pro ball player and understand this game is set as real as I have seen to a particular sport and its conditions of play. I want the difference and not some computer movement I can replicate by doing it over and over. I have played golf from Pebble Beach to the BallyBunion, plus 23 other countries and just as much X-Box and computer games as anyone.  This is the best to me from tee to green and real as the actual courses. The greens run like real golf, read the doggone grid, place the ball where you know the roll and spin.(Stop crying and take the beating like a man) As far as the clubs are concerned, depending on your club contact with the ball; dead-on, inside, outside will determine where the ball goes. To get the same results you will have to hit the ball exactly the same each time, that my friend is what makes golf hard. Sure it is not perfect!  Who the hell is this guy anyway. Send me a better golf game than this buddy. You are a little hard when this game is free. The only problem is the lag in the swing which is much better after the tips from the guys. The other problem is I can not get Tib, Ryan, GB, Icon, Ovup, and it is upsetting me(just kidding). The new set-up is killer and I have broken 33 only once.  The other guys in the top 10, I tip my hat to you fellows; because it is tough in our division. Anyway give it a break buddy and learn about golf.

After only two rounds and the guy makes a post like that! Nothing more than a hit and run for attention. If he comes back to read or respond on this site it will prove my point. Can you imagine being shipwrecked with this guy? My guess is that he would be disappointed if he weren't on the leaderboard after three rounds.

I agree with all of your responses... this guy is full of it. HOWEVER... I do have one beef about the putting, and let me know if anyone else has experienced this... On some greens the putting grid is not true to how the ball rolls, for example, on #1 any putt 9-13 feet pin high and to the right shows a slight break right to left... not even really enough to make very much difference, but when I hit the putt (without moving the aim marker) I am always (%99 of the time) going to miss right!  It's like for that particular part of the green the ball will ALWAYS start right coming off the putter!

Another example... has anyone else noticed that #3 seems to slope back to front a lot more than indicated by the grid?

There are several other places that I've noticed this type of anomaly and it is sometimes very frustrating!  But I just have to try and remember all the little spots on each green where it happens.  And I guess that's really part of the game of golf... but I feel if they are going to give us a tool to read the greens it should be accurate and true to how the ball will roll if hit properly.  It's still up to us to read it properly!

I agree A.Lee that kills me on No.1 Just like real golf you have to roll it to see it. I have looked at a caddie like he was nuts when he he told me to putt the ball right when I am looking at the green and it is left all day, but the caddie knows his course and he is always right regardless of what I think I see.  Personally I think the founders love doing this to us, and you do not seem to have a problem my man with your ranking.  I forgot to mention you are a tough one yourself. I did not mean to be hard on my man, I have owned a business for 10 years and when you work hard and know your product can stand up; it is not right or fair for someone to trash the product after only trying it twice.  This type of comment could hurt us all, from new players coming in, to the founders losing investment from investors that will read the comments of users.  I have had one person more than once stop a solid investment because they do not get it, or do not want to get it.  This guy should think before he trashes the game.  He could make comments in a different way to help with some kinks, after all this is quite young.

What I would like is to play with the best and not have it affect my ranking if I blow up. We spend more time working on our game than playing each other. But in time I am sure we will play each other with regular tee times. I will play with any one, any rank if I am not in the middle of a game, I just hate to quit if I am shooting a 34 and it cost me 50 pts.

    Hey guys,

I agree this is a GREAT game, but I also agree with the club problems. It sucks when you nail a driver and it only goes 205 yards on a par 5, or any hole for that matter,. (now that I've moved back to the white tees),it's harder to even reach some of the par 4's. Most of the other clubs are ok. And yes, I do play golf for real and carry a +2 handicap. I can and do hit the driver off the deck quite often, mainlly on par 5's. If the programmers see these, maybe they will make some changes to make it the BEST glof game there is.

    Good Golfing

I am still bothered by the inconsistency of the game, esp. the putter. Relatively the same conditions, distance, etc., same striking distance, and one time it stops 2 feet short and the next it rolls 8 feet past. I understand that nothing is ever truly "the same", but if you play real golf, you begin to get a feel for a consistency of outcome given a set of circumstances, and you rely on that to guide your play. I am trying to get better here, but there are parts of the game that can make it very frustrating. I did play 100's of rounds on the first version of this game, and I guess I expected (maybe too much) that when it switched over to this new version, the game play would be a great as it was in the original. I realize that this is just starting, but with the experience of the 1st version, I think some of these problems could have been fixed before the release. I hope the game continues to get better so we all can enjoy it.

As for real golf, I have played for about 40 years, although very inconsistently at times (once going about 6 years without playing), so I'm not very good, but I keep trying. My dad was also a scratch golf for years and was even invited to the tour in the early 60's (he once beat Arnie in a charity event, and is now 81, and shoots his age about every third time we play), but he chose to keep his job of being a school teacher, so please don't tell me how I don't know anything about golf.  I don't have many of the answers, but I'm also not totally ignorant of the game as some people have claimed here.

Which brings me to my last point. Public forums on the internet are places for people to post their opinions, what ever they are. I probably was a little premature in my 1st rant, but I didn't call anyone names. You are as free to post your opinions here as I am to post mine. But, unfortunately, as with almost all opinion forums on the net, they almost always devolve into a bunch of childish name calling and unwarranted personal attacks. If you wish to discuss the ideas presented here, then please post. If you are just looking for a place to act like a 2nd grader and call names and pull pony tails, then go find a school yard somewhere. Just don't be surprised when you get arrested by the school security guard.
