So, I have been wondering if the par 3/5 courses counted in my total ranked rounds, for trying to keep track of how many I had as Tourlegend to know when my average would saturate and I just finished a 9 hole round with a buddy on the par 5 course....

Well, when the round started I was at 2,610 ranked rounds played, and after the round was over, I am now at 2,611 ranked rounds played.

I know the round doesn't count toward average, but it does count toward total ranked rounds played and I thought that I had read somewhere in the forums that it didn't.

So much for keeping track lol.  No big deal, eventually I will post my normal crappy score and not see my average increase at all. ;-)

    Just thought I'd share.

I'm glad you shared, I haven't played many if any par 5 as I need ranked rounds ( about 200  left now from legend) to saturate towards Tour Legend and I enjoy the par 5's courses….

    awesome to know :)

It counts as a ranked round in your career total but it's not saturation qualifying. I notated my ranked rounds played when I turned Legend but  to saturate at Legend Tier my count was off by the amount of BOP3's and 5's I had played. It was maybe 15 or 20 rounds of the 500 but they didn't count toward saturation.

like CD - i've found exactly 500 rr before saturation when I excluded the best of 3/4/5's from my tracking.

What screws me up though is not knowing how many I've played.   I mean, I know how many "ranked rounds" by checking my stats, but now I have no clue.

For me it's no big deal since I am TL now, but for those who maybe pushing for TL, maybe this will help a few members out where they think they've had the 500 ranked rounds but their average still goes up after some poor rounds.

Me too:)  I am dreadful at being bothered to run spread sheets etc.  This is just fun and each round I just play with per hole notes few and far between:)

Soon as you do saturate the average plummets like a stone anyway if you have as much crap in there as I did, LOL.  You then quickly wish the average was rolling with stats done properly if like me.  Realise some get precious over their average, get to TL and hardly put a round in less it mess with that precious number lol.

    Careful!

Bo3 and Bo5 are excluded, the other "best of"s are in the mix, including Bo4.

Rule of thumb: Par must be between 60 and 80 to count for average!

    pdb1:

    ScottHope:
The point at which your score resets will be after your first ranked round as a Master, so if you get a 39 on a nine hole ranked round, your average will jump up to 78! (2 x 39 = 78, as your average reflects a score for 18 holes). So suddenly going from a 66.85 to a 78 is going to be very disappointing, but that's how it works. Your average score is worked out from the scores in your current tier.

All correct pd EXCEPT my comment was towards the OP who is a TL.

Scotts comments (part you quoted at any rate so without checking rest) deals with starting in Master tier.  At TL there is no new tier to reach after saturation, and so the average becomes only the average of the best 500 counting rounds.  Why we get crazy low averages at TL which are usually completely misleading.

I appreciate we also get crazy low averages at L and TL before TL saturation too.  Score history inspection on those cases usually denotes a multiplay BPBF9 specialist though, lol.

I agree that with no new tier to strive for that the average should never saturate, but I imagine it does just in case they do introduce the new tier that has been recently talked about in the forums.

My average means nothing to me, I mean just look at mine now, 64.xx as a TL.  ;-)

It was just the only thing really left for me to try and keep track of.
