    Hello guys!

I just joined and I spent some time in the FAQ, where I noticed it said that you can earn credits for free by participating in tournaments. For someone with no budget to be spending on games, that's great news. But then, I noticed it said that tournaments cost an entry fee. Well then. There's the catch.

So, am I missing something? Do all tournaments have an entry fee? If so, how can you really earn credits for FREE. Is it possible?

Thanks in advance for any help, and I apologize if I missed something glaringly obvious in the FAQ!

There are free tournaments that pay credits to the low scorers and there are pay to enter tournaments that also pay credits.

Across the top of the page click on Tournaments Click on those that interest you and to the right click on Learn More and read the details for that tournament

The quickest way to earn free credits is to click on Get Credits > Earn Free Credits and regularly complete whatever surveys you qualify for and play videos that pay free credits.

    From the  FAQ Home

How do you pay out tournament winners?

For tournaments where game credits are awarded we will use a payout method that assigns a specific percentage of the overall purse to the top 70 finishers plus ties. The payout percentages are listed here:

    Place% of PursePlace% of PursePlace% of Purse
    1 18.000% 26 0.800% 51 0.246%
    2 10.800% 27 0.770% 52 0.240%
    3 6.800% 28 0.740% 53 0.236%
    4 4.800% 29 0.710% 54 0.232%
    5 4.000% 30 0.680% 55 0.230%
    6 3.600% 31 0.650% 56 0.228%
    7 3.350% 32 0.620% 57 0.226%
    8 3.100% 33 0.590% 58 0.224%
    9 2.900% 34 0.565% 59 0.222%
    10 2.700% 35 0.540% 60 0.220%
    11 2.500% 36 0.515% 61 0.218%
    12 2.300% 37 0.490% 62 0.216%
    13 2.100% 38 0.470% 63 0.214%
    14 1.900% 39 0.450% 64 0.212%
    15 1.800% 40 0.430% 65 0.210%
    16 1.700% 41 0.410% 66 0.208%
    17 1.600% 42 0.390% 67 0.206%
    18 1.500% 43 0.370% 68 0.204%
    19 1.400% 44 0.350% 69 0.202%
    20 1.300% 45 0.330% 70 0.200%
    21 1.200% 46 0.310%

    22 1.120% 47 0.290%

    23 1.040% 48 0.274%

    24 0.960% 49 0.260%

    25 0.880% 50 0.252%

Prizes will be awarded after all of the players' scores are verified and approved by WGT. This can take up to 2-4 weeks after the end of a tournament.

    How are ties handled?

In the event of a tie, the better scoring entrant between or among the tied entrants will be the entrant with the lowest combined score for the final nine (9) holes of the Game. If any ties remain, the better scoring entrant between or among the remaining tied entrants will be the entrant with the lowest combined score for the final six (6) holes for such Game. If any ties remain, the better scoring entrant between or among the remaining tied entrants will be the entrant with the lowest combined score for the final three (3) holes for such Game. If any ties remain, the better scoring entrant between or among the remaining tied entrants will be the entrant with the lowest score for the 18th hole (9th for nine hole games) in such Game, and any remaining ties will be determined by identifying the lowest scoring entrant for each individual game hole, in sequence from 17th (8th for nine hole games) through to 1st, as is necessary to determine a winner, and if any ties remain at that point, the earlier-submitted entry between or among the tied entries will be deemed the better scoring entry.

If multiple people tie for a place, the percentages for those places will be added up and divided by the number of people who tied for the place. For example, if three people tie for 2nd place, the percentages for 2nd, 3rd and 4th place will be totaled up and divided by three. Each player would receive the same amount. 5th place will then get the correct 5th place percentage.

What are the payout rules if fewer than 70 players are entered?

If there are fewer than 70 players entered in a tier, the payout rules are as follows:

    • Money (or credits) will be paid out as normal to the winners as if there were 70 people in the tier.
    • For each position that doesn't exist, the money (or credits) will be put into a pool as unawarded.
    • Total up the money that was awarded.
    • Calculate the percentage of the money each person received that was awarded.
    • Give each person that percentage of the unawarded pool.

The entire tournament purse will be paid out regardless of how many entrants there are in the tournament.

Mind you, it doesn't say to earn credits in tournaments when you have no budget.

Usually, players win in tournaments only with superior equipment which must be bought in the Pro shop in advance.

And, the winnings in the most frequent weekly and monthly tournaments are feeble.

Look into the leaderboards of past tournaments to get an impression of scores and payout.

Gotcha. That makes a lot of sense actually. I suppose over time I can sock away a few dollars here and there to spend on virtual equipment, but I've always kind of hated the idea of that. At least it's not required to be able to enjoy the game. I've already played a few different matches on multiplayer and it was a blast.  Thanks for the heads up, Alosso.

Click on Get Credits > Earn Free Credits and do it several times a day if you can.

On 4/17 I earned 52 free credits by playing various Earn Free Credits > Watch Videosthat were offered. The Watch Videos page has 4 sections, though only the bottom section has videos every day.

On 4/18 I earned 329 free credits by playing various Earn Free Credits videos that were offered.

There are also surveys you can might qualify for you could complete fort free credits. Some of the surveys you don't qualify for still pay 5 credits for answering the few qualifying questions.
