I am looking to copy "The Durrr Challenge" an ongoing challenge in the online poker world. A young poker player Tom "durrr" Dwan made an open challenge offering 3-1 odds to anyone willing to play 50,000 hands of heads up poker again him. His 1.5 million $ to their 500k$, in addition to whatever money was won over the course of 50,000 hands. (Details of the matches can be found at www.durrrrchallenge.com) I am looking to mimic this challenge on WGT. As a poker fan these matches are very fun to follow, and create a large buzz among the online poker community.
Rules of the bet :
I am willing to take on anyone in the legend tier in a best of 5 series of 18 hole matches, each match for 2000 credits. (90 second timer, ranked matches)
If I lose 3 matches, I must gift my opponent 6,000 credits worth of balls, or forfeit away 6,000 credits in MPC. In addition to the credits they've won from me via the matches.
1 match on each course, and my opponent may choose the order we play them. Once either player wins 3 matches no further matches will be played, so the most my opponent could lose is 6,000 credits. If I win 3 matches, my opponent doesn't have to xfer me anything, so I am essentially giving 2-1 odds.
If multiple people want to take the challenge I would prefer to finish the series with my first opponent before beginning with a 2nd, first come, first serve. There will be no time frame, but I would prefer each series not drag on for more than a week or 2, I am very flexible in my schedule, so there would be no problem on my end getting them done in a timely fashion.
I'm sure ppl will hate on me for sounding arrogant or whatever, but by offering this challenge I'm not saying I'm the best (the truth is I do not consider myself the best), but I'm also not afraid to play anyone. I've never once played a match for more than 300 credits, so this seemed like a good way to find some highly competitive high stakes matches.
Also, if anyone accepts the offer, I will give live coverage of the matches on the WGT IRC channel (chatroom), in addition to posting detailed breakdowns of each match on the forums. So everyone can follow the action of 2 heavyweights doing battle, and possibly pick up a few strategy tips.
edit to include order of those who accepted, and current standings in each series:
