Since turning Legend my R9 Supertri cannot even reach the open part of the fairway if there is any sort of headwind. I am forced instead to play up that narrow channel on the right.

Anyone else struggling here? Any tips?

    I'm in the same predicament.

Cannot even reach the fairway with some winds

    Tips?

There are still some legends playing with the shorter R9 driver that still seem to manage birdies?

Ask them what it is that they use?

    Seems quite obvious to me:(

yeah it is quite obvious. You both suffer from L.O.F.T

Best thing to do.... Pray for a tailwind!

With the R9, and a head wind, you can make it. Have to be very precise. You may be inclined to put a ton of top spin on it to "cut" through the wind. don't. You're just going to drive the ball too low and you'll not even be close to reaching the fairway.  You need all the carry you can get there. Use NO SPIN and hope for the best.

A side wind is really tricky here cause you have such a small landing area. That fescue on the right sometimes gives you a 70% lie - a left to right wind can be a disaster! right to left, you can sort of slam it up against those hills and be fine.

It was the same for the open.   For me a ding here is a must.

    Cheers

Believe it or not...try full backspin into a headwind off the tee...was told this by a old Master...it works for me...

I took a screenshot of this shot because I felt it was one of the more difficult ones.  The marker is sitting at 285 yards.

I made the fairway in this particular game, but I definitely plan on being in the rough on STA 4 about 25% of the time in the future.

The G13-D. I know using the GI-SDs would give a little more oomph but the meter speed increase just doesn't do it for me.

Just work on learning the meter speed. at the present time I have stopped using the feel balls and have gone back to the tour -sd ball and have gotten to where I can ding it pretty regularly now. Even with the tour-sd my big problem is clicking too soon some times. And if an old man can time the meter with the Super -Tri with a no feel ball anyone should be able to.

you can also try the tour gi-s, a little better meter speed and it will go a little farther than 13
