so this program on the outside seems a good idea but if i  owned wgt and thought that most folk where using this then i would either want to make my own to sell or i would increase the vem/dev/wind gusts to stop the game becoming who can hit the ding the most.

not knockin you m8 but outside programs to aid a game doesnt sit well with me, but got to admit i did use runwime putting spreadsheet to learn the greens untill i pretty much had it in my head

    regards ladzrls

First ,thank you sarge for taking the time to do this, but I tried it and it didn't do well with me . Had to WD from a Ready Go.

    I use r-11 irons,with the callaway Z Legend ball

    FFS!

Lick your finger and stick it in the air to check the wind.

I am sorry, but to me this takes away the challenge.  Sorry to dampen the mood, but I hope you guys have fun with it.

No offense Bilko, you are giving everyone a great chance.  It just makes the game to easy. Remember when a 59 was a good score?  Not anymore, 59's get you 25th place...

And yes, I did just make a negative post...

I took no offense legendcrusher and anyone else. To each their own. As I stated it is only a tool thats all. BTW 59 is still tough for me.

I have a nice idea for your next release,
maybe enable an "offset" area that would effect the whole equation.

that way, when you play a test shot with a certain ball,
you can offset the system to fit that specific ball.

could be like a +/- button for yardage or something.

    anyway, thanks for this,
I don't own office, so this would be my first chance to use it.

did you get it to work?

what were you off by? it is designed around the callaway ball so it should not have been to far off. Please let me know, might need to re-look the formula. In all honest I prefer the spreadsheet since it allows me to adjust the formulas. I will say this, if you are playing in a tourney or ready-go, wgt does tweek those numbers so the effect can be different. Dont give up so quickly as with anything it is a tool and playing around with it will allow you to learn more about it.

Thats fine, and to be honest the putter pal I created 2 years ago WGT now has it as well. maybe they will incorporate this, to me using the putter pal is an honor since maybe I inspired an idea for them. Like you after learning the game I rarely use the tools anymore myself. I created this when I struggled and offer it to others who might otherwise quit.

I did. didn't realize you need to register to dl.

I'd like to comment on LC's remarks,
and just say that I can do these calculations myself,
but it takes a bit longer. I tested my own calculations
with those of this app, and the difference was a mere few yards here and there.

the most I find it useful for is saving me the time and headache of adding numbers.
doing math with A.D.D is no fun trust me, it takes a lot from you.

sure we don't need a gps, we can use a map,
we don't need a dishwasher, we can wash our dishes by hand,
but like most all other conveniences, I believe this tool
does not change alot. wind formulas can be found all over the forums,
in fact you can be the next bollox just by sitting and reading
some of these gold nugget guides, everything from calculating
shots from the rough, to wind, to putting break calculations, it's all there.
this app simply saves you the time to calculate, it does not ding for you,
it does not putt for you, and it does not scramble for you if you mess up.

if you're good you don't need it,
if you're bad it won't help you that much,
    maybe even do the opposite.

    just 1 player's thoughts anywho... :)

Very nicely put, it is simply just a tool! BTW, that is why I prefer the spreadsheet, there are times I tweak the formula's based upon current play. The program was for those that did not have MS Office.
