I've started like in a dream: -6 after 5 holes. And then, this:

A little consolation on #10 but not enough to make me happy:

    I'm disgusted :x

For those who think they can manage with technical analysis, please DON'T... it's better to hash in front of bs like this...

Dam unlucky Joe , i am guessing a bogey from that? And looking where that tee shot hit it would have been a birdie chance so maybe a 2 shot swing?.

think I blew it. 3 whacked from 4 feet on 13 in the 3rd round to shoot a 60. Was so afraid about losing the ball on the low side that I jammed my downhiller through the break. Ran 30 feet passed. Second put had way too much speed. Hit dead center but still bounced out of the hole

Derek, 55-57 for the first two rounds is excellent, definitely in the running...great shooting, bud.

I'm expecting slow greens (yuck) for one of the next two rounds, but who knows?  I'm sure all the surprises will be loads of fun...

    ;-)

Mud greens in round 4 could be  the guess?

I hope they go pure ice. Let us have 20 on the stimp. Separate the men from the boys

Nice rounds guys/girls... Always tough to keep in it mentally after f ups...

I managed to miss birdie on the par 5 4th from 5 feet, leaving it 2 feet short because I thought I shifted down from 50 to 20 meter... It was on 20 down to 10 increment...lol!!.... In the past I would have gotten flustered by it and folded. Was only -4 going into tough holes 8 and 9, went birdie birdie for 29. Then had 8 straight birdies for 27. I'll take it.

Good luck rest of way all.

Nice to see you playing again if only for the VUSO.  Good luck in the final round, Jon.

Second shot from the bunker was 1y short in the rough (40-50%). The 3rd shot was unstoppable because to the right-to-left slope. The putt for bogey was not too hard but I've missed the missed ding (in other words I've hit the ding but I didn't want). Double bogey :(

I'll definitely take 58-58-60 so far. Like everyone, I've managed to miss quite a few short ones in the 3 rounds, maybe 8 shots given away there? To be near the lead, I'd have had to play 3 nearly perfect rounds, in other words, so I'm still getting quite a bit out of my games.

Was L after the first 8 holes last round, but managed to get the full balance of the last 10, only missed putt was a 20' look at eagle on #14. (I probably could have aimed straight at the flag, but I wasn't sure I had the ability to carry the front bunker.) Had a 19mph headwind on 17, which made carrying the left bunkers and rough really difficult: didn't even manage to find the fairway there.

Only real misses were a 6' eagle on 4, a 5' downhiller on 7 (which led to a 7' save coming back up), and the eagle putt on 14. FWIW, my #2 story: had 44 in on a 17-19 L-R crosswind, hit my 64* with the least bit of backspin, but didn't carry it near far enough, spun back to 30', and since I've not really practiced much in the past week, left the first putt 10' short, leading to a sloppy bogey.

Overall, though, getting the last 10 to save the round? I'll take that! Keeps me top-20 so far, and on track for my best finish in the VUSO.
