I know one very well, I won't tell you his name but his initials are Olazabal !

He told me recently that due to the economic downturn, the main entree at a recent Masters Dinner was KFC !

Sorry to "out you" Ollie....couldn't help it.

I know there have to be PGA and European Tour players on this site. WGT has so much attention to detail, realism and actual slope of fairways showing bounce characteristics and greens showing break as is relative to speed, etc, etc.

They would be nuts not to be on this site! They can actually "preview" a course they are unfamiliar with.

They won't come out and identify themselves though, and who could blame them?

I would think that the WGT site would be a good place for a player's caddy to look prior to the Open.  Spending a few hours on WGT gives you a feel for how balls bounce in certain areas of the fairway, green elevation and break, etc.

Obviously it isn't the same thing as the real course but I can see how you could get some good notes from the game.  Someone else mentioned it but after playing these courses prior to the US and British Opens you could immediately sense how difficult a shot would be or when a player has put their shot in a position to have a good birdie putt or a place where a 3 foot putt could not be hit firmly.

I do not see why a pro would play this when he is playing the real thing almost everyday. Playing madden is totally different. You have guys playing football and joking with each other and ragging so when they get home, their buddy may swing by and play a couple games. It is a lot different to play and be able to get a reaction from a person you hang out with. Why would a professional golfer waste his time on here with loading issues and players quitting after he has been on the real course all day? This game is for the imagination. All you need is to know some math, learn how to push a button and spend ebnough time to learn the game quirks and the courses. Madden is MUCH more in dept and you must have a lot more knowelege of the game. you need to understand the nickel, dime, 3-4, 4-3, spread, spread optaion, shotgun, pro set formations right and left and much much more. It would take a person a year to even compete with another person on Madden that has an understanding of football and has played the game for a little while. Here, a person can compete with almost anyone after 6 months of playing 14 hours a week even though he has never played golf in his life. That is why this game makes so much $. Any Joe Blow can play it and compete. And ANYONE can manipulate his score and average so it looks good on paper. The funny thing is , these guys think they fool people with their 57 average but when they play an alt shot, their 65 average partner is the one carrying the team. NoTso in Madden
