I just started a week ago with the multiplayer games and enjoyed several of them till now. It resulted not always in the best scores, but it left with a few new friends.

However, over the last two days, I tried to play about 10 games and finished just one, because people were disconnecting before the end of the game.

Sometimes the reason is simply technical and that I understand, but mostly people just give up after hitting a bogey, even on the first hole. I don't know why that is, because its all just in the fun and there is really nothing at stake.

However, what really annoys me very much, are the people disconnecting when its there turn, because then the play is tilted and the other players cannot go on. I hope that WGT is going to do something about that and that there will be a lot of less quiters in the future

    Hi Covenant,

If someone disconnects during a multiplayer stroke round and the game cannot be continued you do have the option to choose QUIT & SAVE from the main menu.   This will save your game where you are and you'll be allowed to pick it up in single player when you reload the browser (it'll automatically ask you to resume).  This way if you are hunting down awards or a personal best score you can still finish out the round.

Yeah, that I know, but the purpose of a multiplayer game is gone

Players often discontinue for various reasons: they don’t like the way they are playing, they don’t want their average to change, they don’t care for their playing partners, and sometimes for computer freezes and such. I played with others who “discontinued” with a one foot putt left on the last green.

How about if a player discontinues for whatever reason, the must finish the round on their own. If they don’t, they are banned for one day for the first offense; two days for the second offense, four days for the third offense, and so on.

No, because it really isn't that big of a deal.  Read here for a way to enjoy this game without playing with quitters.

"Making" someone do something they don't want to do, or telling them they 'must' do it, is not a way to run a macro-transaction website.  All that will do, to appease the vocal minority, is cost WGT members.

Losing members = losing money.  Losing money = losing WGT.

Join the ladders, make friends, be competitive and get better at the game... all without playing a single round with a quitter.

The steps are there for all to take.  There should be no reason for anyone to get angry or upset because a random pick-up game falls apart.

    Peace.

Golf is not a game to be played alone.  It just isn't as much fun and that is the one time you will hit a hole in one.LOL   So when I'm playing with a couple of low 70's shooters and they discon after a double bogey I doubt very much that it's technical.  Before the hole is finished maybe, if thier last shot was a good one but if the shot was into a hazard there is no doubt in my mind they are just quitting for thier average.

Yes, Slony, they are... and that's on them and not you.  Let them go.  Screw 'em.

Get on the ladders above and play all the multi-player games you want with no quitting allowed.

(Besides, I really don't want to hit a "Hole-In-One" in multi-player, because you can't save the replay!!!)   =)

This really annoys me too. Maybe there should be some way to show how many times a player hasn't completed a multiplayer round. Then you would know what kind of player you are going to be playing with before you tee-off.
