    Snaike,

I believe you misunderstood Norm.  He was referring to crude comments made TO female players, not by female players.

Ah! ... thank you for that!

I did, indeed, misread Norm's message and for that I apologize.  These 32 hour days make the word "to" look like the word "by".....

                                             ...Mea culpa...

Yes, Norm, I completely agree.  Crude comments TO our female players is, as you said, bad form.

I agree SweetiePie. The vast majority are gentlemen, I just ignore the creepers and move on.

    AWOMANSCORNED:

ive noticed wgt chose not to "asterick-out"  vulgarity in the chat feature, like most other games ive seen do. though i rarely chat obsenities, i dont object to it, and personally feel that drinking and swearing are as much a part of golf as clubs and balls. i usually am accompanied by a cold one when playing, and throw an f-bomb or two at my monitor when i strike a bad shot.

    your thoughts.

I am no prude, and I will use a bit of profanity now and then as the situation calls for it, but I never use profanity in casual conversations with friends or strangers.

As for cursing in print in the chats during a round, I don't do it. If my playing companion chooses to do it once or twice after a bad shot, no big deal. If a player curses during the entire round as a matter of course, i simply ignore the chat and play the round. I have even used a piece of black tape over the "chat" box to keep the flashing from disturbing me.

Clever!  Now there's 1002 uses for duct tape.

(NO, Claremoreblue... I did not say "Duck Tape"!)

I don't understand your issue? Aren't asterisks informing the person you are talking to showing your frustration being vented? Why does the actual word need to be seen by you, or worse, by the person who may not want to see it?  You still get your point across, the rest is just symantics.
