No. Just check out the link. The main issue was that it penalized the victims of quitters along with the quitters, thus rendering the entire reputation tracking totally useless, and worse than no tracking at all. It's a good thing they called it off.
The basic principle must be: as soon as you find yourself alone on the course, it's no longer a multi-player round, and therefore your reputation tracking must no longer be affected in any way, whether you finish that round on your own or not.
Among the secondary issues was the penalization of folks who play sudden-death shootouts. I had to play one such shootout earlier today, lost on the 1st hole, and if the original reputation tracking were in place, I'd have suffered a reputation drop in addition to the defeat.
These kinds of things need to be taken into consideration by WGT in order to make reputation tracking work reliably.
