i now have 74 names on my sh*tlist , of those 74 blatatently quit,( telling me they're quitting), others had to quit 3 times at least to rate the list and those quits must not have happened on holes 1 or 2 ( due to inactivity bug) and the remaining quitters  have quit 3 or more times after bad shots.    side note:  several players have said i have to go .. ie..  something has come up (they got an extra strike, meaning they took 4 times to rate the list).. i have played many online games over the years i've never seen as many quitters in any 1 game!  it's hard to get a game. i occasionally get errors myself. never had 1 after the 2nd hole, unless some1 quits midswing of another guys shot, ive played for awhile now. i cant understand why this is.  so what if your average drops a few points, is there a way to get wgt to pay you based on your average score ? WTF am i missing?

yeah it is so childish to quit after a couple of holes especially. i used to play gettysburg quite alot for years and there would be those that quit when things weren't going their way. same in here. YOU DO NOT GET BETTER BY QUITTING GUYS! play on and learn. if you're precious rating means so much wait till 9th . lol

Your ar so right. I sometimes play 4 or 5 games in a row and end up playing on my own because my 'partners' have quit. Why not play on your own if you're just gonna do that!? Very annoying.

Mainiack, these are the same guys that cheat at real golf.

Roll the ball over, rake in a 3-4 foot putt, write down a par when they double bogeyed.

Why do you think life would be different here?

     Hi All,

I personally think that if someone quits, their score at that time should count towards their rating.

I pride myself for never having quit a round. I wont either - I think its cheating, and those people will get found out one way or another. You cant be proud of your rating if you quit rounds when the going gets tough. Once I was 3 under coming to the last and triple bogied - boy was I spewing !! But hey its only a game - right.

    Happy playing

yea i can relate to that, coz i was said in the middle of a game, i thought u would quit, ha And i said no i'm not gonna quit, ill bouce back after couple of rounds!I was in the sand and didn't know about club selection, was my first game here with opponent, and it took me 5 tries to get out and he said use the wedge, he he.

Quitting in the middle of the game isn't fair, and anyone wants to tee of with me, im ready!bring it on!

cheers! great job on the game wgt.fab game.

Another perspective:  Particularly lately I've experienced a number of temporary, and ultimately permanent, freezes in rounds with other players.  In some of them the time clock freezes and then restarts with the time it was frozen elapsed!  Once I was unable to get off a shot before it expired, twice, and was penalized a shot.  The same thing happened to my opponent the following night.  In both games, it finally froze for good, with no activity, or only sporadic activity, after 10 minutes.  I'm not sure it was apparent to my opponent what was happening -- his comments in Chat wondering what happened to me made me think he wasn't seeing the same thing.  I had no alternative but to close the window.  The irony was that one of my opponents opened our round by saying he hoped I wouldn't quit the way others had!

So, probably only very occasionally, there may be an innocent explanation for an unexpected departure of a player.  Otherwise I'm annoyed when an opponent disconnects on the 9th hole when he's up enough to raise his average.

I'm new and I can tell you why people might quit. This is A TOUGH GAME. I'm terrible and I still wont quit a game even if I'm shooting 120. I think if you start a game and quit for any reason, that game should still count as a negitive in standings. Many people like to get a "heads up" on their standing by dumping a game rather than let it hit their standing. Imaging what would happen to someone playing "real" golf and walking off the course after hitting the water on the 2nd hole? Please! I haven't played with any body yet because I would rather not embaress myself. The same reason I go to the driving range. Practice and get better. Don't play with others if you don't have time. Just my 2cents..................
