  Round 8 at Chambers (ouch)

  We never did get Erin Hills. We really lucked out with 8 of 11 being the Par 5's. 2 at Chambers Bay where scores were abysmal. 1 at St. Andrews.
  
  With this very lucky high finish, the downside is that club members may be expecting it next time, and it sure isn't going to happen this way again. :)

  That IS a very nice score, but I would trade you your crosswinds for my headwinds any day. It was impossible to reach the par 4 GIR, and I have a 245 3W. Almost impossible to reach the fairway on a few. Good thing we had Chambers only twice! :)

  I hear ya. 

  I just finished the back 9 of St. Andrews. Averaged only 281 from the tee. And the one time I did get a good drive, it ended up in a fairway bunker. On 17, for my approach, I had almost 260 to the green with a 29-31 mph headwind. Not a recipe for birdies. Had 7 pars, 1 birdie, and a bogey. 

  I think that was my worst clash score ever (49).

  We had Par 5s twice C.B once the rest was evenly split between St Andy's and Erin Hills. Unbeaten but not easy going.
