No joke, very serious, I want the job

This thread is not meant for any candidate speeches. Write to WGT if you want any job; there's no need to pollute this thread. WGT will pick the right candidate for the job if they decide to pursue this path; Nivlac is the obvious favourite, and Nivlac might then select other forum users he trusts.

I'll give you a hint, though: anyone violating common forum netiquette on a habitual basis is automatically disqualified from acting as a moderator. Many forum users pointed out to you you shouldn't highlight your forum posts, or large sections of them, in bold font. It's a common breach of netiquette. Yet you persist, which automatically disqualifies you.

Fair enough Faterson (I kind of forgot the point of the thread for a sec, which def rules me out a mod!). So, back onto the proper topic at hand...

How to improve WGT? Well, I can't seem to think of any that you haven't already thought off. Maybe give out a small prize to winners of community tourneys? Or put a multi-colour status system in place (described here)?

Also here. (The idea goes back to December 2008 & Nivlac.)

Thank you for pointing out the breach  of netiquette Faterson.

I think there is a strong core of players that have been here from the start of WGT. Look to them for help in moderating, perhaps in the form of a committee. They've demonstrated their loyalty and common sense in these forums and would make good judges.

I'm not a fan of committees, YankeeJim, being a survivor of communism.    There's the danger, in a "committee", that "gang mentality" might prevail; "old-timers" sticking together no matter what, and punishing the newcomers. Not saying that's what would happen here, but it's a rather common occurrence in forums.

I believe the best way to resolve this was already mentioned by Nivlac in that locked thread: a small team of 3 to 4 moderators, led by the top moderator, ideally Nivlac himself. (I trust the perceived obstacle of denying prizes to Nivlac et al. can be removed.)

PS: I've made no candidate speech for myself, in fact quite the opposite, expressly denying the idea I was lobbying on my own behalf. See the posted disclaimer.

Congrats on escaping the communism, F.  The anniversary of the wall coming down in Germany got big press here and was nice to watch. Now,  if you can get the American perception of Slovakia away from the Hostel    impression .....

Committee might have been the wrong word to use-panel might work better. At any rate, you have the idea. The gist was involving true tenured  WGT loyalists.
