Trouble: WGT was created as a golf game and not a chat platform. You and your friends need to avail yourselves of a chat platform such as Discord before, after, and during a WGT round.
Perhaps your country club could set up a Discord server (free) where members could meet, chat, set up games and hold large scale gatherings.
You, personally, could set something up and then share with those friends that you can see but not chat with. Best of all Discord does not have to be a download, but can be accessed from their pages. Nothing like being able to talk and not have to worry about keyboarding as you play. Discord also has an app for mobile to add to its convenience.
In this age look for the appropriate tools rather than trying to make something go beyond its intended purpose.
