    i am a newbie, and cant understand why i always have to play par 3's instead of 18?

    You're confusing something. You can play random 3 holes, back 9 or front 9, or full 18 on any of the 2 available stroke-play courses. There is no option to play only par 3 holes. Take a closer look at the various menus in the game pop-up window.

    Look at this post and you will find step-by-step instructions on both single and multi-player rounds on all stroke courses.

    I think you are confusing Stroke Play and C-T-T-H (Closest to the Hole) rounds.

    Only two of the current courses are available for Stroke Play: Kiawah Island and Bethpage Black Course. The rest of the courses are Closest to the Hole challenges, which essentinally means they haven't completed mapping the courses yet, but they've taken what they have and made a challenge out of them, where you get one shot to get it as close to the hole as you probably already know.
