I am frustrated by the fact that the new 291 yard driver has a slower meter speed than the rest of my clubs- so it sits in the garage gathering dust while I hit the trusty 287 yard driver that is identical in meter speed to all the remainder of my sticks. The 291 I hit early even when I am trying to hit slightly late- which leads to being in the rough on narrow driving holes. Or, your instincts on timing get flummoxed a bit on all shots with your otherwise matching set.

Would it be too much to be able to program the option when buying to offer "faster" meter speeds of the same club-i.e. a "downgrade" from the specs- so we can have matching meter speeds? (Yes, putting is another matter, but putter meters being "slow" is a good thing).

    TopShelf2010:

Would using a "lesser" ball help speed up the meter?

    Don

Why yes, Don- it certainly would- however the "mismatch" in speeds challenge would remain, and then my timing would be messed up on 3 wood, irons, and wedges.

    Agreed.

I'd like to downgrade meter speed to 3.5 on my new Titleist driver and Callaway fw.

Glad to see it's not just me Miantao! Heck - they have putters with 2 different increments, why not drivers and FW's with a FASTER meter...

Then they will need to do it on all clubs.
