I have been checking my stats for a  pretty good 6 Under Par Round at Pebble Beach and am surprised to see that my driving average was only 57% - however there were three of the par 4 holes on which I made the green with my drive - so Question is  - does that go against me when WGT calculates the average? i.e. does it only count when ball lands on fairways when its a par 4 or 5 hole?

    Robert1893:
Driving the green should still count as a fairway hit.

To confirm, I just played a practice round on front 9 of St. Andrews. I drove the 9th green. At the end of the round, my stats displayed 100% for driving accuracy.

That just means it didn't count as a fairway missed ;-)

To the op: the only way you can get to 57% in 9 holes is if you hit 4 from 7, the two par threes don't count. I'll have a guess that you hit the green on 1,3 and 4.  That means you must have missed the fairway on three of 2,6, 8 and 9.  Another wild stab and I'll go for the two par 5's and 8.

    Robert1893:
I'm not quite sure I'm following you.

I just meant that as you hit all the other fairways in your first round then it didn't make it clear if it counted it as a fairway hit or just ignored it, as it does with par 3's when the first shot lands on the green (You either didn't say or I missed you had noted the checkmark). 7 from 7 and 8 from 8 are both 100%.  It did confirm it wasn't a fairway missed.

As he was 57% in accuracy it could only mean 4 from 7 (not 2.28 from 4 it would otherwise be) and that they did count, your second round confirmed that.

I wasn't meaning to be obtuse or contradictory, really I was enjoying trying to work out which three he missed :-)

There is a flaw in the stats. Landing on the fringe will count as a missed fairway.
