Apologies if I'm posting this in the wrong part of the forum, but what is going to be done about members who disconnect because things ain't going so good for them in a Match play game for example ?

It's starting to really get on my mammaries. Am I incorrect in thinking that you have to either Forfeit or wait 10 minutes ?

As stated elsewhere... let WGT fine tune this system to deal with the quitters.

Yes, we all agree 10 mins will be too long, and they are realizing that by the sheer number of messages to that effect.

There is a balance, please allow WGT to find it.

(Besides, what if it was YOU in a hotly contested match and YOU got disconnected and wanted to get back into the game... and YOU had to use 9 minutes of the 10 to get back?... Then it wouldn't seem too long, would it?)

For match play I believe they'll consider dropping the timer to 5min.  That seems like a respectable time, though I hate how some users are using it to punish people by disconnecting before the winning putt is made.

The game should able to tell the difference between an accidental disconnect and someone clicking the X or END.  I can tell when someone quits IRC whether or not they manually quit or the computer booted them off.  If simple old IRC can do that, I'm sure that can be accomplished in a browser.

For stroke play, there will eventually be reputation tracking.  Nobody is sure how that will work quite yet as it's still considered a 'RoadMap' feature.

Something needs to be done to penalize quiters. At least average in there score from round they quit on so it still affects their overall average. Most quit when they have a blow up hole or two and don't want their averages to go up.

To me this is just like real golf.  You have sand baggers who inflate their handicap with shooting high numbers on purpose then when they are in a tourney the actually try.  Or you the the guys who say that are better than they actually are.  Personally sand baggers piss me off more than people who say or think they are better than they actually are.

I see that this has now been reduced to 5 minutes, well done Admin. I'd actually go for the 2 minutes previously suggested. Cheers.
