I'm confused about all the arm twisting done by the sight to join a country club. I come here to blow off a little steam and play what is so far an enjoyable computer game. But I don't want to join a club -- ever! Can someone explain to me the site's vested interest in shoving the country club pop up at me before I begin every round? Is there a way to avoid that?

While I'm sure it's annoying to get that ad, WGT's vested interest is really quite understandable. They figure if a player gets connected to a country club and its community, then the player is more likely to keep playing the game. The more a person plays the game, the more likely WGT is to get money from the person.

It's no more difficult than that. And it makes sense. It's basic group theory. While that logic may not be true for each individual, it will for the majority of people.
