  hole distance........................240

  elevation.............................. -3

  wind..................................... -7

  new distance ........................230

  I hit a 3 iron (225) full and I got this outcome. Been playing and calculating this way since 2013 and am finding this outcomes quite often now and lost my enjoyment of game. What happened ? Is this a way to create more ball strikes? Not good.

  With the wind or neutral, hit a 3 iron.

  Against the wind, hit the 3 wood.

  If we're talking about BPB #3, the 3w is only to be used in 15+ mph head wind. 7 mph head wind is 225 full, with a touch of bs. Of course, if you don't ding on that hole, all math is pointless, cause the shot has a mind of its own, especially in the lateral movement department. It's the same as ever. 

  Can't see the replay, so I don't know where the ball ended up, but my guess would be behind the green.

  P.S.: I don't mean to offend the OP, but if I was him, I'd change my calculations for everything, cause looking at his stats, they're obviously wrong.

  Based on those figures, I would of used a 3i with about 57-62% backspin, which would generally get me within a couple of yards.

  The last two posters are spot on, using the Nike Black balls they use. My earlier post was based on my experience using level 51/53 Volviks. I should have clarified that.

  I've used the level 90 Nikes on that hole too; my experience with them is similar.

  I get 230 yards out of my 3 iron. with the L-90 Nikes(5 distance balls)

  How do you loose 10 yards out of that? I'd call distance as 235 MAX. If not 238. Your 3 iron is 225? So you come up 10 yards short. Bad club choice.
