Oppy, you just haven't been here long enough to understand, clearly.

The game is a resource hog, and will spike in its CPU and RAM demands even during idle periods, like when you are standing on the tee box and not moving.  This is not a problem with individuals computers, this is simply how the game is designed.  You haven't played much, perhaps you've been fortunate enough to connect to the smoother servers.  I've charted and discussed the differences in server performance in other forum posts.  Eventually, you will get hit with some meter lag....everyone does.

At any rate, this game has some coding and server issues to work out if it wants to continue billing itself as a "play from anywhere' kind of game.  When so many people experience the same sort of issue on a simple Flash-based game, you know the problem is with the game, not the players.

look, i dont even understand any of this computer talk you are using here, cpu, ram. all i know is that i turn on my computer, log onto wgt, and i have hardly ever had a bad meter. i just find it very hard to believe that it is just a stroke of luck by which my meter works well

oppy, if you don't know what a CPU or RAM is, turn off your computer, put it back into the box it came in, and hide under your desk until rescue crews arrive.

Seriously though, I doubt you are having a 'well working meter' by the standards he/we are asking for. There is a difference between what you find to be an acceptable meter and a smooth rendering, non-stuttering consistently reproducible meter.

At the highest levels of play the meter skipping even a few pixels every other swing can mean the difference between a birdie and a par or an eagle and a birdie.

It is either badly programmed or the flash development environment cannot handle drawing horizontal bars of pixels at high speeds.

I find it hard to believe that you know when your meter works well.

I find this a little ironic. I'm with Oppy on turning the bot on and just playing-no problems. I did that with this Toshiba laptop and haven't had a problem ever. No DLing this or disabling that-it just plain works. I do have "meterfarts."  However......

The meter issues everybody has, and most complain about, are brought about by what Tibetts points out. He is right on. Here's the irony--the meter stalls for everybody-for whatever reason. People with computers on the edge of the "minimum requirements" will have more of a problem then those like Oppy and I have.  I'm sure Oppy and I are way over the minimum requirement thing,  "out of the box."

Add-ons like gamebooster will definitely help the on-the-edge players while doing nothing for me and my out-of-the-box bot. "Working well" is relative but the tolerance for the inconsistencies isn't. Some people get more upset than others, some understand the limitations of the whole scene and others say "this sucks."

To you brother Tibetts I say your knowledge is  way beyond the basic user/player's and you have it in total perspective. Trying to convince the uneducated/unexperienced might be akin to wasting your breath trying to explain it. I believe you and that's why I'm not the get-upset type. It pisses me off when it happens but the next tee is here-piss and moan or move on. I take solace in the fact that I know it happens to you. Move on.

To the complainers I say "I'm sorry you're the get-upset type." You're missing a good time. If things are so bad you can't play a round then look at your stuff-something's real wrong if you're having that big of a problem. If the inherent nuances of the flash meter get your knickers in a twist then either fix it by the sage advice given you by the experienced ones here or find another avenue for your frustration.

How's that for bombastic , folks?  JMO

Just a note guys....  from a 'there should be a moderator' aisle...

Try to keep it non-personal or the whole thread looks to get erased.

No, I'm not a moderator and I don't even play one on TV, but there is some good stuff here that I personally don't want to see vanish into the ether...

I see Oppy decided to re-read my post, understand it and delete his response. Good move, Oppy.
