Shame Finny regarding drop outs.

Think personally that it was a long qualifier especially with the bye weeks as well.

Could shorten it by not having those in next time.

Would be a top comp with all teams who take it serious actually putting it in.

Anyway....good luck to all left in.

Bearing in mind that SEL had 4 teams I am amazed that the total numbers taking part were so low. Just how many CCs are there in WGT?

However I think that I agree with Bubbs, perhaps less teams in each league before knock out stages, either 5 or 6. I think 4 would be too low, but we do need to bear in mind that this seems to be annually played. If a competition runs for too long many changes in personnel and life take place.

I would be hoping that if the length of time was reduced you might actually double the take up.

Anyway possibly not for me to say, but just saying.

The world cup of golf 2018

Hello all

Well this is it

We have had 9 really tough rounds of golf to finally get to the knockout stages,

This is where the real game begins, no second chances now it’s all or nothing,

I won’t go into all the groups now as we all know who is through and we also have the plate to play for so I congratulate all teams for getting matches played, a big golf clap to the captains for dealing with any problems without any fuss or arguments,

We have a few teams drop out at this stage due to issues getting players to take part, we will discuss this one over the next few months to see if we can shorten the comp with smaller groups and perhaps more knockout stages and get it implemented for next years comp.

We go into the last 16 now so there will be winners from each match and we get a result win or lose,

18 holes Match play

RULES

Each match will be played to a win or loss even in sudden death,

If it goes to sudden death no handicaps will apply,

Each match will have a 2 week timeline to complete

Any matches not completed on time will be looked at by the panel and a decision made on the result depending on evidence supplied, I can’t see there being any problems with this

Any players refusing to play will forfeit their match,

Any player with a - 2 must concede holes 4 and 16

Any player with a -3 must concede holes 4,5and 16

I would suggest a 90sec shot time with 7 timeouts but players can go for less if both agree if one doesn’t then 90secs no arguments,

No focus boosts will be allowed during matches. Use of this tool will lead to a disqualification

Players please post results so we can update the results page,

Let’s keep the forum busy but no negative comments from anyone, if you have problem contact your captain first,

There is also one big prize up for grabs

First eagle over 165 yards from open play 5 sleeves

There is a separate thread for all ctth challengers, do not post on this forum or we may miss it,

Make sure you have a photo shot or the back up of your opponent will do,

Stu(spino1) or i will contact the sponsors after the round has finished,

We all know how important it is to get matches played and please play all matches even if you have lost the match, it’s all about making new friends

Thank you Finney and to all of the assistants that helped along the way, and a big shout out to the Sponsor's, much appreciated!

I would like to say that all of the Teams that we faced in Group #1 were of the most highest sportsmanship for the most part, and we would like to thank those Captain's and Players in our group for a great Competition!

Naughtybinature vs mrbirdhunter. Jill won handily as I was playing about as poorly as I ever had while she was playing lights out. Jill, the HIO was on hole 8 and was impressive. Eagle on 7 followed by ace on 8 made a comeback very unlikely. Well played and look forward to playing with you again. This post is most likely going to be moderated as I rarely post in the forums.
