This game, as are most online games which at some stage almost require you to use your own real world money to either advance yourself or 'compete' are developed and targeted at one group of people.

    Those with addictive personality disorder.

This is nothing new, been used in business for eons.

There are only two type of people here. Those who can play the game as a casual online distraction and enjoy it and take it or leave it - Or those who simple must keep playing regardless of whether they're spending their own money or not.

There is probably a lot of statistical information to back up high numbers for those two types of people .

But when you get hundreds of thousands of people world wide . To share and experience one common phenomena . WGT .

Those 2 types of people become hundreds of types of people . All with varying agenda's .

No dispute . It takes all types for this whole thing to have become this big .

Not but a couple months ago . I might have thought that I was one of those people that must keep playing . Didn't think twice about the minimal $100.00 I spent per month on the CLASHes . Buying 5 packs and speed boosts for CLASHers .

But as I have seen in others . And happened to me . I just plain stopped . I had reasons . But on January 19th over a month now . I stopped playing .

Biggest surprise was no withdrawals . Didn't jones at all .

My point is . I don't believe that WGTers have disorders that make them targets for these hooks .

No there are fun and somewhat addicting hooks that are inviting to most .

I am proof that any balls to the wall player can just stop .

I don't mean this with any ill will, please don't take it that way...what made me laugh a little Paul is I had to wonder ... while you may have slowed down your playing, the other component and it doesn't involve a cost per se to "play" but it is the "need" or "desire" to participate in the community that keeps you coming back and commenting in the forums.

could you pull away from the forums just as you did the game play?  I am not suggesting you do so, please don't take it that way.  the idea was...you can get drawn into the game or the forums feeling compelled to respond or share what you know and that is another personality type.  I am not calling it a disorder either, but maybe a trait or characteristic.  You enjoy engaging with others...wouldn't you agree, that would be harder for you to pull away from because it can give you a sense of validation and contributing to others.

I also think there is a difference between having an addictive personality disorder and simply having normal range of humans emotions, egos, and personality types that can be drawn into addictive like patterns.  That does not mean these people have a disorder but it draws upon basic human instinctual behaviors that are widespread across a lot of different types of personalities!

IDK . Maybe not . I find that as a very active owner of a CC . There are tasks and duties that if I don't do there .  They won't get done otherwise . I won't feel right .

Being that guy and posting here or in my CC forum is all the same thing .

Playing is different from all that .

My frequent posting is related to the ADDICTION I have to VOTSCC .

If I could or would ever be actually able to walk away from VOTSCC . Then I would be done with WGT .

I don't know if I will ever be able to do that .

I am sure you are correct there .

Without a doubt . Is what I said above .

I am currently in a scenario that has tested that possibility .

HELP WANTED JOB DESCRIPTION CC OWNER

I did think that for a number of reasons . That it would be best for me to take a long break .

      Totally justified .

But I talked myself out of it .

I got a couple of sincere thought provoking offers and a few alternative options . That I really had contemplated .

I ended up backing away a little from the CC . Continuing not to play .

Being broke is not the reason I am not playing . I probably could find a way to use $4.00 Nikes instead of $5.50 Nikes . Lol . I have 90 free balls I could use .

So this is not the first time I have had to consider a departure . A couple other times over the years as well .

      All for different reasons .

Each time not leaving . Not even really taking a break . To be honest .

Till now . I have stopped playing .

The first step . Baby steps . lol

ugh, but it does give you more time in the forums.  : )

am glad you didn't take my post critically and am glad you can still be a support for your club and others you cross paths with.  also wishing a well with your health issues and hoping all works out and you begin feeling better physically.
