Indeed. There is no way a putt hit 40 feet on a tournament 12 green will go that far. In theory, hitting the ball over power as I always do, it would need to be hit about 51 feet. No way did the ball then go another 17 feet if only played 40 feet.
The game was not at fault. The person taking the putt was.
