First off, let me start by saying I really love this game, but something has happened and I don't know how to correct it. My game is freezing up, and then crashing after only 1 round of play, or even less sometimes.

The browser I am currently using is Firefox 5.3.2. I also employ the Adobe Flash Player (version 10.0.32.18) and an game accelerator entitled "Game Booster 1.2. I have DSL, and my speed is approximately 5.1 mbps.

Everything was working fine up until about the time of the WGT shut down for maintenance. But 3 different events occurred, so I really don't know what happened. The 1st event was an new version for the flash player, the 2nd was a update for Firefox, and the 3rd was an update for Game Booster (1.1 to 1.2).

I have uninstalled and then reinstalled both the Flash Player & Game Booster, a couple of different times, but still the game will only allow me about 1 round of play before bogging down then crashing. Sometimes my play screen will minimize all by itself and return to the home page. Now I didn't delete the older version of Firefox, because I didn't want to lose any of my saved data. But I don't even know if that matters.

Ive tried different browsers (Yahoo & Google Chrome) but still no help. The yahoo won't allow the Flash Player for some reason, and the Google Chrome crashes.

I pulled down my options menu in my tool bar for Firefox, and checked applications, but I don't see Adobe Flash player there, just something called Shock wave Flash for Firefox.

Note: I am also getting error messages associated with the Flash Player (error 1009) and they won't go away. Is there a way to see if your Flash Player is functioning properly while logged into WGT?

Anyways I am very frustrated and am at wits end. Is it normal for the game to experience these kind of problems after only 1 round? Can anyone please help me to figure out how to correct these vexing issues!

    Thank You,

    Trackterror03

Hi Track, you didn't mention if you tried clearing your browser and Flash cache. Did you do that as well? http://www.wgt.com/forums/p/635/2552.aspx

    Alex,

I have to clean the cache file for the browsers after it freezes up/crashes or it wont work tight at all. As far as the Flash cache, I'm not sure where that is located. Is it located at Adobe.com? I will try to see if I can find it.

    Thanks,

You can flush your Flash cache right here. Click the Delete all sites button on the last tab.

If I elect to "delete all sites", what affect will that have on all those sites the next time I visit them?

Thanks Mr. Faterson, There was only 10 KB used. I deleted it, but didn't really help. I also uped the limit from 100 KB to 10MB's. If anyone can tell me why I cant get even 1 round in, please let me know!

    Thanks, Track

No appreciable effect. Those sites will just load a bit slower the first time you re-visit them, until they re-build the Flash cache they use. You can regularly clean your Flash cache without giving it a second thought. You also don't need to clean it at all if your computer is running fine.

As to Trackterror03's concerns, I'd ditch Firefox for now. I'd clean the Flash cache completely, all sites. I would then also uninstall GameBooster, at least temporarily, just to be sure it doesn't cause these problems. Then try launching the game in Google Chrome again by clicking here: http://www.wgt.com/gameclient.aspx .

(Also, a browser named "Yahoo" doesn't exist. What happens when you play the game in Internet Explorer? Or in SeaMonkey? Or Opera? I'd try the game in every conceivable browser to check if error symptoms are the same in every browser.)

I share your frustration and I'm looking for help as well.  I have an older rebuilt computer, so of course I don't get very good graphic response or a smooth  shot meter.  I just saw while playing a typical closest-to-the-hole competition, a link to download Adobe Flash 10 for a smoother meter, etc.  In the middle of installing it, the whole process shut down and now I can't even play.  Everything on the site works including my HACK profile, but I can't play.  No matter what I do, removing programs, defragmenting the drive, etc. I can no longer play.  I'm 41 with limited computer expertise, I just got laid off, and the only computer games I like to play are golf games.  My IQ was just measured at 147 though so I know I'm not an idiot.  gjlang68@gmail.com is my email if you or someone can help me.

My advice would be to uninstall the Flash player again. Make sure it's completely gone, then re-start your computer. Then re-install Flash and try launching the game again.

(Be aware there are 2 versions of the Flash player: one for Internet Explorer, and the other version for the other browsers. You might try launching the game in various browsers to see what happens.)
