Confirmation would be nice, but look at this way.  If they were able to create this entirely unique course mapping technology from the ground up, then I'm gonna go out on a limb and give them credit that they would know how to make the ball go in a straight line. :-)

It seems to me that Harrington expirienced the beast at Firestone 17th last Sunday. It just confirms what I've been saying to all my friends, WGT is just like real golf.

can i make a suggestion?  how about instead of randomly f*<king over someone's game and blaming it on "deviation," do like every other golf game in the world and penalize players who don't hit it right on the line, and make the penalty more severe the harder the swing is.  isn't that kind of like "real golf?"  the harder i swing in real life, the further into the woods my ball goes (if i don't catch it just perfect).  i've only been playing for a short time, but i think the game is great.  but it's frustrating as hell...i'm trying to "earn" my new clubs through winnings, and since i was promoted to "master" in about 2 weeks (don't ask me how), i have no shot at the stroke-play tournaments with my freebie clubs (i don't care how good your course management is.  if you can only reach a handful of par 4's in regulation...you're not gonna win).  so i'm trying my best at CTTH comps.  maybe i'm just venting tonight because it seems like "the beast" is extra ornrey right now, but on hole #1 of edgewood, if I hit it DEAD CENTER i don't think i should end up 30 feet away behind the bunker!!!

i say penalize the players who don't hit the mark consistently, make the penalties more "severe" with the harder swings and less forgiving clubs, and make the wind more of a factor.  at least if i blow it on some hole, i can say it was my own fault, and not because the program decided it was time for a ball to end up in a bunker (and there's nothing you can do about it!!!).

They tried your suggestion several months ago.  If you didn't hit the line the ball was well off target sometimes by as much as 50 yards.  Needless to say it was changed within a couple days because of the vast amount of complaints about the lack of forgiveness.  If you search hard enough you will find some posts from back then, I spologize for not being able to suggest topics to search.

As Avatar Lee has said (and I agree)  I think the game is far too accurate.  Now that we can hit 270+ fairly consistently with a couple 300 yarders mixed in there is no way anyone should be averaging 90+% driving accuracy.  Add in the ease of hitting greens in regulation and that is why we are seeing such low scores posted in every tourney.

I am by no means one of the best yet I have been able to maintain a 92% driving accuracy and  72.8% greens in regulation, how much more accurate do you want them to make this game?
